I still feel like the fire dance was an asspull, but otherwise great episode. I was really mad about it at the time, though episode 20 appeased me a bit. Anyway, Rui is amazing. When he says "I WANT IT" I get chills every time. The demon characterizations are my favorite part of this show.

2020-04-09 14:38:38 +0000 UTC"Revenge" isn't the most cogent word choice. He's pretty clear both about Muzan and demons generally that he wants to kill them to prevent further victims. "I'll kill Muzan BECAUSE of what he did to my family" isn't something Tanjiro ever expresses, I don't think (though I'm not caught up on the manga).

MHA to me tries too hard to be emotional by showing the the reactions of everyone all the time. This is way more personal and special cuz of the bond between Nezuko and Tanjiro and what they've been through. And the writing for both series is "basic" tbh.

But if you shape your opinions based on how other people express their opinions (IE disliking something because a lot of people are excited about it) then you are missing the point of entertainment in the first place.

Everyone I've seen online hyped this episode so much. And I gotta say. It's definitely not overhyped. It's badass as shit, and it really did get me emotional.

Also, in the manga, the glorious fight sequence we witnessed is like 1 panel. Ufotable expanded the whole choreography in the traditional ufotable way of going beyond the source material in certain ways (like they do in Fate/). Always doing their own thing haha
