It does show up once or twice in Yakuza 0 it only actually happens once early in the game and Jacobs playthrough started like last year

When a Yakuza member fails an important task they traditionally cut off a section of a finger (starting with the pinky) and offer it to their leader in atonement. Im a little surprised Jacob hasn't run into this in Yakuza 0, its a staple of Yakuza culture but ive not followed the streams so IDK for sure.
