I did enjoy nana. But being honest, I do not like every show for reacting, Nana and Hibike are two examples of shows i like but do not wish to see a reaction to. I can really recommend to watch them tho.

Zach, I do understand why this “recency bias” is a thing in these polls, I really do. But I just can’t help it, when objectively worst show in the lineup runs away with it just because of that and some memes. There are shows that I absolutely can’t watch, like Space Dandy or Grand Blue, but they are still good for what they are. And there’s things like ZLS, that fall into “painfully mediocre” category. Well, at least it gives me a reason to finish it now, as I’ve put it “on hold” at around ep. 5.

The only thing I’ve been keeping up with recently has been Noragami, so I can’t attest to anything else they’ve been watching, but they’re always pretty good at having discussions about pretty much anything you throw at them. I just know they really like diving deep and both Given and Nana could give them that.

What the heck is with this lineup? I watched most of them and none of them strike me as exceptional. I could choose NANA, but i don't like it that the story is left hanging. Bruh. The only place ZLS had mainstream popularity was Japan, since you don't seem to understand what I'm saying. It was not nearly as massive boom popular as K-ON. Every single person I've ever talked to or messaged about anime has heard of K-ON, and very few know about ZLS. It was not at all a mainstream show

It was huge while it was airing and for a long time afterward. Reddit was full of ZLS memes and clips, truck-kun was eveywhere. I'd say that definitely counts as being reddit-famous, and clearly people still remember it. K-ON is the only other one that could come close- it has occasional memes and clips posted and is generally well regarded, but it never had a huge booming popular phase on reddit like ZLS, because it came out 10 years ago.

Since its music themed and post Space Dandy, you should really check out Kids on the Slope/Sakamichi no Apollon. It a coming of age story set in the 60s where two boys connect through the magic of jazz. It, like Space Dandy, Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Champloo, was directed by Shinichiro Watanabe.
