I'm pretty sure the original is correct. Despa is a bit of a braggart, especially in the beginning. We don't learn who Desha is really as a character until later on. Even listing to the original Japanese, I'm pretty sure that the subs are correct. If you read the manga, it's the same.

2022-09-23 20:56:14 +0000 UTCI'm curious why you think that was an error since I checked some fansubs and they are pretty similar to what Crunchyroll is using. Also the way he talks and is animated sounds like as someone else points out bragging about himself in the beginning which kind of fits his character in my opinion. I will say I do not know Japanese so I could be completely wrong how to interpret those sentences.

At 3:24 (episode time), what Despa actually says is: “His power… his leadership… I'm no match for either. Not to mention his frugality and industriousness. Always concerned for the people, a true man of virtue. You saw the bronze statue, right? That is what people made to honor my brother.”
