2022-10-12 01:23:52 +0000 UTCNormal sadness about character deaths, like Up, is like being stabbed in the heart. Clannad is like getting your balls slowly sliced by a pair of rusty garden shears. It really says something when I still cry after seeing this show dozens of times at this point. Go back and watch the intro carefully. It hits different now that Nagisa died. I thought that Nagisa could have been killed off but I didn't think the show would actually do it. No show I have seen before or since has the same general tone.
