Luckily it was a short wait, from June to October the same year. And then later on in Part 2, it went on break for 86 Days before airing the final 2 episodes.

For the inquiries, no Lena won't experience hearing the voices as that only happens when you're connected with Shin via Para-Raid. The toolbox Shin left behind were the dog tags he had collected from his previous squads; remember when he asked Lena if they were going ahead, he was hoping she'll eventually catch up to their final destination. Also, you've probably already been told this but any episodes that include a .5 you can skip as they are recap episodes when the show was going through production issues.
