I do hope you will still react to the extra episode since it's a more of a side story of Nagisa that is interesting and might be provide some nice discussion. At the very least I hope you watch it on your time.

The VN made you experience Tomoya, Nagisa and Ushio dying even if you do everything right the first time. I'm pretty sure you can't get the first ending with a guide with the point being that you have to face reality and hardship and overcome it to achieve happiness. My interpretation of the ending is that it's Tomoya's afterlife. He did die, remember but did he deserve the eternal suffering that he faced to collect all the lights he needed? No. If I remember right, Tomoya and Ushio did die the first time, created that purgatory with the lights and then spent endless cycles collecting enough power to make a powerful wish come true. As Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles pointed out, the smaller the probability of something happening, the more power it takes to transfer into that reality. In other words, that world is farther away; necessitating a proportional amount of energy.
