I should have reemphasized that Raphael has no ego, self-awareness, or whatever you call it. However, the text takes pains to point out that it's kind of the potential for self-awareness that manifests itself when a Skill does something without orders as Raphael has done here.

About what sort of demon Diablo is, it's already been stated more than once. - At the end of season 1, in the episode for Shizu's past where she met Diablo (episode 24), we learn that there are different lineages of demons, each with a different Color, and that Diablo is the Primordial Demon of the Black Demon lineage, with him already having the pseudo-name "Noir" for the color. - Recently by Razen (he passed out from the realization of what it meant for a Primordial to not only summoned, but also fully incarnated with a body, allowing it to stay in the physical world as long as it want). In short, Diablo is indeed more than just an Arch-Demon. He's a Primordial Demon, one of the first 7 Colored Demons to exist.

Great Sage evolving into Raphael and then evolving Gluttony into Beelzebuth WAS necessary to guaranty the success of the revival. Without Beelzebuth, it wouldn't have been possible to absorb all the magicules and soul particles in the area and then separate them and reconstruct the souls perfectly. Without Raphael, all of it would've likely failed due to a lack of computing power to correctly reassemble the souls and to correctly revive the dead monsters.

The future will reveal some things, but in essence, Raphael is Rimuru's Skill, and has no other goal than to support Rimuru. It's her nature. Everything she does is to fulfill Rimuru's desires. So she desired to try to evolve at this propitious moment to fulfill Rimuru's desires. I don't think Raphael has anything to do with healing. She is Lord of Wisdom. I don't know if you know it, but almost all angels' names end with -el. There is meaning in differentiating between demonic and angelic skills, but not the way you're thinking. You're on the right track about how this world works, it's beyond your typical game world UI.

Raphael sacrificed these skills Degenerate and Merciless but still kept some components. For instance, with Merciless, Raphael kept the Soul Consume portion. As for Degenerate, she kept Combine and Separate, at least.

Rimuru Tempest

And with this, we've reached the end of the second season's first cour. Aside from a recap, every episode has been a ton of fun, with great plot and story development to boot. Between the this half and the next, a slice-of-life spin off called The Slime Diaries aired that was honestly a ton of fun and had some great background additions to stuff going on in the show. Not to mention being super cute <3 Can't wait for your reaction to cour 2!

There are Demon Lords and True Demon Lords. Clayman is a demon lord. Rimuru said at the end of the meeting before the battle that Clayman might want to use the war for himself(to become a true demon lord). W Reaction

It was never said or hinted Clayman wants Rimuru to be a Demon Lord. Eren(Blonde girl elf) told RImuru the story(Milim's) and Eren/Eluyun she's a princess/noble with info from Sarion. Also, Rimuru helping the BeastKingdom Eurazania and opposing Clayman is not good for him, since it seems he's in charge of Milim who just attacked the Kingdom that Rimuru is helping. I like you guys predictions but you tend to confuse what they're saying or doing to your predictions. Like Raphael opposing Rimuru(it's a skill don't know how it could)/ Clayman making Rimuru a Demon Lord. It's better to separate your predictions from what is happening. Great Reaction, keep it up

Rimuru is not human so he doesn't have the lifespan of a human. His race is a slime. Diablo's race is a demon, Beni n the others from ogre to kijin and so on. Demon Lord is a title and not a race. You can now call him Demon Lord Rimuru and slime is his race.

Raphael/Great Sage is part of Rimuru's skill. Not opposing Rimuru. Raphael/Great Sage wants to fulfill Rimuru's wishes or its master's wishes. Great Sage used Shizu's degenerate(combine and separate things) to create skills FOR Rimuru, for example, Black Flame. After Rimuru ate Orc Lord along with "Starved", Great Sage used Starved+Predetor to create Gluttony(used to swallow Shion's energy bullet s2ep2 I believe). Then Raphael used ( or sacrificed- bad phrasing) Merciless combined with Gluttony to create Gluttonous King Beelzebub.
