This was made for the dub. It takes place in the US, all the slang makes sense, the Japanese characters speak Japanese and you can notice it among the English, on screen writing and graphical text is in English anyway etc.

I don't hate dubs. It depends on the anime, but I do watch dubs from time to time (although not nearly as many as I use to). This falls into the "I watched the sub first so now the dub just sounds wrong" category.

I'm usually a sub purist, but this is the exception. I think if you gave it a shot without thinking about how you hate dubs the entire time you'd enjoy it more.

Lucky for you, they DO have subs on for this! And yeah while I love a good dub I have the exact same problem, reading English is just so much easier than listening to it when you're non native, nice to see they thought of accessibility for this one!

Most likely exposure bias, since they're doing another series (PnS) as a dub right now. Which is literally just a coincidence that both happened around the same time.

I’m looking forward to this reaction series. Also, thank you for reacting to the dub! This is one of those series where the sub just doesn’t make much sense for the world, even if it wasn’t based on a Western property.

If the dub is good, then why not? I prefer subs over dubs, but I can never hate on someone's preference. Also, there are such good gems like Cowboy Bebop, Space Dandy and more.

The dub is clearly superior. Just accept it and enjoy the show or complain about it some more I guess. Anyway can't wait to watch later. It's a quick journey.
