Rache Bartmoss basically set up a kill switch after doing what your typical edge runners are want to do, pissing off corpos, so when the hit-squad found him, it activated and released a fuckload of wild feral mini-Rache Bartmoss AI's that corrupted as much Data as they could. What was it, like 90% of the web went up in flames, and the rest was just a data scape of broken pieces and AI that kill anything they find. Then Netwatch decided to use another AI to create and maintain an Anti-AI firewall around the whole thing called the "Black Wall" through which no information can cross.
