I think one of the best parts about this story is how they show realistic reactions of people. Daikichi's parents shift in attitude at different points of time definitely mirror how people are in general. They were too concerned about responsibility before to care about Rin's feelings. Now that the matter is settled, they have the leeway to actually consider how to help their son out with parenting.
