Just wanna add some details in the book but omitted in anime: - After the argument, Rudy immediately went to Zenith's bedroom told Zenith that everything he said are lies he made up, and asking her not to hate Paul. Zenith responded that she knows what kind of person Paul is, and knew that something like this will happen. - When Paul assaulted Lilia when they are in swards schools, she wasn't fall in love with him, but didn't really refuse. She soon became a maid in royal palace, and people who are much more disgusting started to harass her, which made her more forgiving to what Paul have done. When she exit her live in the palace, she saw Paul was hiring a maid, so she applied to make a life, thinking that if Paul refuse, she can force him to hire her with these history. *BTW, Lilia eventually told Rudy all these history. - When Rudy return letter to Roxy, in the end he wrote "P.S: Sorry I stole your panty" - Rudy always try to win Paul during the training, and he want to win him as soon as possible. He does not want to win Paul after he grow up, because Paul can find excuse because he is no longer in his peak. therefore Rudy have imagined many ways to utilize magic to win Paul. That is the reason he was able to respond so well when Paul suddenly start to attack him. - In the letter Paul gave Rudy, he told Rudy that the cat lady is King level in sward god style (3rd level out of 7), and the only time he can wen her is in the bed... - During the fight with Rudy, Paul was initially just try to play serious, but end up with being very serious. Per light novel, Paul started a sudden attack, but it took him 3 steps to finally land the hit (that knock Rudy out). Paul thought that if Rudy have a good team, he will have back up from the team by his 2nd step. Rudy have already got the capability to join a team and do adventure in dungeons. - lastly: Sylphiette end up with coming around and saw Paul knocked Rudy out, and immediately attacked Paul with intermediate level attack magic without incantation, with good speed and power. Paul was able to defend, but he thought that it was an attack that can easily kill people who is not as good a fighter as Paul. Paul end up with going back to exercise after Rudy left, worrying that he might not be able to win when Rudy is 12.

for some understanding, advanced is ranked number 3 from the bottom out of 7, and its 1 in 40 000 people that can become advanced in one of the magics(like fire or water), so king whos 2 tiers higher is definitely hand counting worthy. as for swordsmanship it usually takes 10 years for a talented swordsman to reach advanced in 1 of the 3 sword styles and again thats the third lowest rank

wow you really nailed down that paul used inner mana to heighten his abilities, you are correct, the anime skipped when this was explained in the light novel, tho they could bring it up again later.

I would like to point out that polygamy is still against cheating. Consent is still important, poly is not supposed to be a free ticket to just do anything you want.

oh this family definitely has a nice dynamic and much focus, aside from this story being about character development (especially rudys) its also about the relations with family and also friends

Great reaction as always, but I think you guys understate the Sylphie aspect of the whole thing. How Rudy treats Sylphie is critical to what goes down at the end of this episode...especially the whole "I'm going to raise sylphie to be my perfect woman" bit

Maybe its just me but I think you guys were looking too much into the situation where paul knocked rudy out for the sake of rudy going away and getting the job.

We have the biggest couple of uncomfortable moments coming up in the next 2-3 episodes so please just don't take it too hard lol. It is difficult to get past but it isn't too unbearable.

And rarely is it shown to be the protagonist's parents as well. The parents in isekai are usually holier-than-thou ideal parents. Another thing about the Paul/Lilia/Zenith infidelity situation that isn't explained in the anime, Paul and Lilia are from a country where polygamy is commonplace whereas Zenith is the opposite. Paul "changed" for Zenith but obviously he couldn't continue to hold back. I love that This anime doesn't make everyone as flawless caricatures and makes them real flawed people.

LOL the bomb at the beginning. Now to get into the core theme of Mushoku Tensei: characters can still be redeemed even with piece of shit, scummy personality traits. You can't erase what's already done, you can only move forward. Still alive? Might as well trudge on, and (hopefully) be better.
