People tend to focus on the part where Sato says he doesn't have a dad (which is understandable) and tend to miss that he does give a straight up answer to Uenoyama's question about getting the guitar from his dad, by saying "No. I don't have a dad"

The train thing is just more to imply that Mafuyu is a bit spacey.. he just didn't have enough funds on his card and had to add them (its a prepaid train fare card)

Fun thing to look out for is that each episode name is the title of an English song (some are by UK bands, others by US bands). For the train part it was simply his IC card ran out of money so he had to go top it up. It's basically a card you put money on to be able to travel around without having to constantly buy tickets. Some people are really good at being able to keep track of how much money they have left on their card, and some people aren't. It could also be showing that Mafuyu doesn't usually travel out to where the studio is and it might be a bigger fare than his usual trips so he didn't have enough on his card to cover it. In the manga the mangaka gave each of the characters an animal that they were like. She decided Mafuyu was a Pomeranian (just like Kedama, his puppy).

Couple quick things... OP was written/arranged and performed by Centimiliimetal. Given was his first anime he created the OP for. Second, now that you've heard Mafuyu sing, we now have lyrics and vocals for the ED since Mafuyu's VA Shougo Yano performs the ED. The ED was also written/arranged by Centimillimental. I love how the show reveals things in the OP and ED as things are reveals in the show. So, pay attentions for some changes to them as the anime progresses. There is an after credit scene in Episode 3.
