EARLY ACCESS Frieren Episode 16 Reaction

EARLY ACCESS Frieren Episode 16 Reaction

Comments

i've been watching a german yt reactor called storieswithstyle and he has watching frieren and blowing my mind with all of the hidden in plain sight meanings of all the german names. for example, he busted a gut laughing when the demon Lord Lugner showed up bc his name Lugner means Liar. there's so many LAYERS of meaning in this show. truly a masterpiece of storytelling

CJ

Interesting. Never thought that way.

The old dwarf chapter was actually pretty important in the fact that it drives more into the himmel and frieren relationship. Himmel took notice of how he could be that human to frieren. Potentially pushing the wedge in more for him to sacrifice not officially telling her how he feels for her. If you really love someone you wouldn't want them to be tied down by your death, especially with frieren living even longer than dwarves

So did they think old man dwarf didn't hear about the demon lord being killed or???? Cause it was supposed to signify the old man getting close to his death with dementia as far as I know. Seems weird to see that and think its due to him just simply not hearing.

Also, Kraft did not bat an eye hearing that Frieren was in the party who beat the demon king. Gave "been there, done that" vibe.

Yeah thinking back on the episode with Kraft, he mentions how he believes in the goddess because "no one alive today remembers my righteous deeds." who knows what he did over a thousand years ago.

I really love that conversation at the end with Old Man Voll because it can be interpreted in a number of ways. I think the way I like to think about it is that he's purposefully playing ignorant so he has reason to live longer. He's stayed alive for this long so that he could see the peace after the Demon King, which is what his wife wanted. And I think he was also waiting around for Frieren to return because chances were she said she would (this is just a guess, though). Now that both have been achieved, he doesn't have a reason to keep living. So, he's telling Frieren here that he's still waiting (and POSSIBLY implying that he'll wait until she comes back from Ende again with "news of the Demon King's defeat"). Either way, that's why Frieren didn't correct him.
