personally i don't think young hachi was any less self aware about how she hurt her partners...her key trait has always been to overthink a situation and blame herself and stuff like that, even when shoji and her used to fight, she would get a bit defensive but she wouldn't need anyone to tell her what she did wrong bc she'd blame herself. and she does the same thing with the nobu situation, she overthinks it and blames herself for the situation when in reality, that's just the situation, no one is to blame aside from maybe takumi. she's not wrong for wanting 2 ppl, she's not in a relationship with either nobu or takumi, it's not like she asked takumi to show up in front of nobu, nobu ASKED hachi to treat him like a friend and not be awks which is what she did...hachi doesn't every intentionally hurt nobu, the situation just exists like that and loving someone causes pain. but hachi puts the blame on herself and apologizes when realistically the only thing she rlly has to apologize for is her cutting him off without communicating after that incident. hachi imo grows more in gaining a sense of material reality and not being so impulsive whereas before she would probably need someone to hold her back. she grows in a traditional adulting way with more responsibilities but she has been quite emotionally sensitive to her surroundings since her and nana moved in together.
