Ahah, saw that too... I think it's best if they take a rest from anime for a while if the effect of watching something slightly off your personal tastes is that painful.

Outside of me likely reading too far into that, the vibe seems off. Jacob seems straight up unhappy during these Frieren reactions. Sometimes Caleb is sitting literally cross-armed in boredom.
