Darklake Battle Map - Release

Greetings Adventurers!

This week we'll dive deeper into the Underdark (based on the theme voted by our Patron community) and explore more of what it has to offer us. This particular area may once again be familiar to anyone playing the Out of the Abyss campaign module so it may spark some interesting ideas as we take a look at the Darklake.

The base map releasing to the Barbarian tier takes place at a location within Darklake where the waters aren't too deep and can be modestly traversed. Most of the Darklake area lies in pitch blackness where the only light comes from whatever your players are able to provide. Much of this area is a giant labyrinth of lakes, waterways, and canals that connect to a large assortment of caverns and chambers. Players who don't know the way through here usually rely on maps or guides to avoid becoming lost. I added a high level of stalactites above the grid layer in order to provide a depth view from above, further encompassing your players within the cavern environment.

The Death Knight tier will be getting a variant that brings this map to life where it becomes darker and the eerie green glow that the Darklake is known for lights up portions of the map. This strange bioluminescence appears to thrive beneath the water and spew outwards amongst the land. Even the stalactites now hold the glowing bacteria. Fungi and wildlife have also be added on land and in the water as foraging for food becomes imperative for players in this area. 

The Necromancer and Legend tiers will be getting a bag crafted by the artist Rangoah and authored by myself. The Necromancer tier will be getting the bag artwork by itself with a transparent background while the Legend tier will be getting the "Gelatinous Bag." This bag is considered a very rare wondrous item and hopefully it will help "lighten the load" for your players. The Legend tier will also be receiving this item in digital card files.
