This is a very interesting episode. You have what the show puts forward just on the surface, but you also see this cynical point of view of the way that humanity is just using the plants as just these resources even though they are themselves sentient beings. And when one isn't useful they are ready to discard it. You can see that when they discuss killing Vash so easily. And it's only when Vash becomes useful to them that they actual start treating him humanely and Vash sucks it in because he just wants to be wanted. It's an interesting dichotomy that becomes more apparent as we see that both brothers have their faults.

I can't wait for you two to see more of Nai. The latter half of this season develops him quite a lot.
