Yeah that's exactly what I thought and meant. The show definitely needs a rewatch to catch that stuff. Good writing.

But yeah i didn't really notice it until rewatching it now, the show is really great with subtle facial expressions and character moments (like Bojack's facial expression in the first interview when he says he was relieved, obviously lying, same expression when he lied to one of his students in an earlier episode.) With Carolyn there's multiple ways to interpret things because the show doesn't spell out how she feels in this episode, but i think it's sinking into her how toxic and dangerous person Bojack is and what a negative influence he has had on her life.

Then comes the bombshell revelation in the second interview that Bojack opted to save his own ass at the expense of Sarah Lynn's life. The first time I saw this episode I was devastated.

Especially Diane looked so sad when Bojack said he loved Sarah Lynn, clearly indicated She wish Bojack loved her like that. Tragic character.
