EARLY ACCESS Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 16 Reaction

EARLY ACCESS Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 16 Reaction

Comments

Which is weird because episode 14 looked great...

The Great Santini

I like that analogy!

Casioka

Mr. self-important over here.

Shaw

There weren't any problems with this episode I think. The MAPPA director was complaining about episode 14, which was lacking quite a lot in quality compared to the rest of the season.

Shaw

Then don't watch it? The Bros watch a ton of shows I don't care about, but I don't bitch about it.

.korbitr

Only thing I'd like added is some slow motion movement to the flashback scene. Felt like that was the kind of vibe they were going for.

Bravado

AOT is the main one sapping their resources, scrap that one instead of JJK lol

Paulothy

nah we're sh*tting on mappa not the employees. mostly episode 17 that have big issues. better to have a constant quality like fairy tail than starting amazing to finnish with gifhts where you don't understand the action even if the animation is "better"

Fenronin (Dorian Dubourg)

i know L.C. that you are just trolling with all this hate but what are these ''other good anime that MAPPA arrogantly decided to take on'' and why they are better than jjk

Tauren Rogue

Honestly stop feeding this guy. He's been a troll here for specifically JJK for some reason for ages.

Balurion

JJK can take the hit so the staff can be treated better and the staff don't have to be slaves for the sake of a shonen jump anime. JJK is the anime causing all of the issues after all. :) MAPPA shouldn't have taken on so much. Too much to handle for the slaves at MAPPA to make good enough episodes to spoil the JJK fandom since they can't handle an episode that isn't movie quality animation or else they go onto social media to cry at the slaves making JJK and tell them to do better or else!

L.C.

I think we can all agree that JJK can be scrapped and thrown away so the other good anime that MAPPA arrogantly decided to take on don't have to go down the drain along with it! I already know your answers so no need to reply. :)

L.C.

What is this 'uWu' you speak of?

L.C.

Gongrat's man! Happy for you <3

Misdef

I think he's the type that gets off on hating anything mainstream and popular. It's basically his cocaine or heroine.

JsnSkg

User with a 'uWu' pfp shitting on a shonen because they have "superior taste" - tale as old as time

bondbond53

But we can all agree Mappa needs to treat their staff better and is digging their own grave.

Reqorium

I can smell the self righteousness from your comment. No one cares. The story is great. Especially for a shonen.

Reqorium

Bro what? Are you the arbiter of which anime should have good animation? Jujutsu Kaisen is a beloved series, generating extreme amounts of excitement every time an episode drop. It trends on twitter non-stop for days after an episode comes out. The strong characters don't break the story, I don't know where you got that from. I don't know why you decided to just randomly be a hater for no good reason. JJK has great characters and themes if you actually pay attention.

Jordan

I don't care about JJK. I think its forgettable and boring but I just find all the drama around the series to be funny. It has drama with its broken characters that break the story and its got drama with MAPPA falling into the shitter cause of how they treat their employees. Wonder if they will finish off the season without any issues. JJK honestly doesn't deserve the animation it gets in my opinion but seeing how it is revealing how screwed up MAPPA is makes it worth it I guess

L.C.

I would say this episode didn't really suffer all that much from the scheduling issues. Of course it could always be better, but that's true of every anime episode ever. I don't think the blu-rays would change anything other than the ghosting or dimming. This episode was for sure a 10/10

Jordan

Sukuna is the darkest incarnation of the Buddhist ideal; to become entirely self sufficient and achieve total inner peace. Sukuna doesn't need anyone else. He may allow certain others to exist in his presence on a whim, but he's reached a level where he doesn't have to rely on anyone else to fulfil his basic needs or desires and has divorced himself from any emotional attachment to them and so may take from them or harm or destroy them without guilt. He's an inverted Buddha.

Trevor Wingard

nah this literally was the best animated ep of the series

Wow, I didn't expect to see this today D: I hope you're still enjoying your honeymoon, Caleb! Don't worry about us - we can wait :)

I agree. Mappa is overworking their employees no doubt. But people are going to these episodes with a bias and not watching it for what it is. This episode was incredibly animated, top 3 of this season. There are fights i.e. Grasshopper where you can see clearly was lower tiered and not as polished. But don't see it for this one. I think there are stylistic choices that some people may not like i.e. use of stills or more abstract scenes. But those shouldn't be confused for unfinished work. And again there are episodes where the criticisms ring true but not this one. And ultimately this is Mappa fault. I'm glad the animators conditions are becoming public which will push for some changes. But they are ruining a bit of an experience of what has been a great season and improvement from season 1. I don't think each episode has been consistent in terms of quality, you can see they prioritize the big impact ones. But as a whole it has been great and better than s1. In my opinion anyways

jur

The animators definitely deserve more time and credit for their work, but everyone saying "Oh, these episodes are so unfinished" and "They could have done more if they had time" is disrespecting the animators' efforts. There were definitely still frames, but they were kept for use during exposition and scenes that really only would have just been more lip flapping. This episode was mostly fights and those fights were incredible and clearly done with a lot of passion and care. The choreography of the Toji fight was top tier and the effects and artistry of the Jogo fight was also amazing. Of course the episode wasn't perfect, but it never would be. The animators are being put through hell and still putting out animation better than 90% of all other shows. People being told the animators were under pressure is making them judge it more harshly and that is just insulting the animators' efforts. We should be celebrating how amazing they are doing while still bringing attention to their situation rather than saying, "they could have done more" when we still got something great. Just a little rant since it feels like people are focusing more on what they could have gotten rather than how hard the animators are working. This is just my opinion though, I don't mean to insult anyone in particular.

SAP

strange all the other uploads are normal, but I guess those were all prerecorded

Jota Canutto

this episode actually had a better schedule than other episodes, but unfortunately better doesnt mean great either. They HEAVILY extended these fights tho and added a lot of extra cool stuff compared to the manga, actually incredible that they were able to make this episode in these conditions. The Jogo fight especially is much more an art style decision that was made on purpose, rather than something that was unfinished.

KAIKI’S VA

Max Bretl

Back earlier than I thought, very excited for them to see this last big stretch of Shibuya!

HawaiinHercules

My favorite part of Jogo’s dream is that he wants a world without humans. That includes sorcerers. If curses are made from the fears of humans, what happens when humans aren’t around? Curses stop existing. His own dream for a curse only world necessitates humans existing.

WE BACK BOIS

Christopher Ross

They are abroad I think, so can't do 17

Saleem Ali

Double episode or episode 17 for next week ? :D
