This leads to demons having very different appearances. About these demons not looking monstrous, it's because of how some monster evolve to be demons. Like Frieren said, Flamme defined Demons as any monster capable of human speech. These monsters aren't all fully humanoid in appearance. While Aura, the 3 demons in the second half of this episode and the demon kid in the flashback look human-like safe for the horns, the other 3 demons we've seen before were either vaguely humanoid or more beast-like. For examples: - Qual in episode 3 looked mostly humanoid, but was also distinctly not human looking. - The quadripal giant monster with giant horns that Eisen(the dwarf) was trembling in front of when alongside the hero party in a small flashback in episode 6 was also possibly a demon. (not sure for this one) - The giant demon with a beast head and many giant snake tails seen in the flashback in the first half of this episode(7) was a bit humanoid, but still absolutely not human looking.

2023-12-07 20:02:54 +0000 UTCA good example of a monster similar to a demon yet isn't a demon is the Einsam, the monster from episode 5 who creates phantom illusions from the memories of humans nearby. The only reason Einsam monsters aren't classified as demons is that they aren't capable of human speech.
