The show naturally highlights the trainees who didn’t make it which is why company’s snag them after the program is over. It’s a good marketing strategy for trainees regardless of making the team or not because their chances of debuting are higher now even if it’s with different companies. MANY of the trainees are now in diff groups like you noticed…xlov, onepact, 8turn etc

People aren't perfect and they don't need to be just for you 💔 I'm really sorry if this sounds mean bc I'm really not trying to be, but it just bothers me when only look at male idols like they're specifically made for entertainment. These are real people who are more than just "attractive". Once again I promise I'm not trying to be mean bc I love you and ur reactions, but survival shows are extremely stressful environments so people will do pretty much anything to stand out.

2025-04-23 15:19:02 +0000 UTCThe 2 types of oddball trainees that you spotted are pretty common in survival shows tbh. The first type of oddball is an idol that has already debuted before. Companies often send them to survival shows for exposure because the group is not performing well and on the verge of disbanding and so they are trying to build a fanbase for the members on the show to bring back to the group promotions, they are not necessarily expecting them to get into the debut lineup they just want to make their group and artist better known through a show that the general public watches. Because MNET survival shows like this often make temporary groups if a member of a preestablished group makes the final lineup they are able to go back to their original group after the temporary group finishes their contract. There are actually a lot of idols on Boys Planet that already debuted but all the people you recognized were people that debuted after Boys Planet finished airing. The second oddball are the trainees who are very obviously not ready to debut yet because of their skills. Companies may send these underprepared trainees for 1) exposure, that way they will have fans waiting for their eventual debut and 2) so they can benefit from the training and resources the show provides. Small companies may not be able to provide top of the line vocal and dance teachers like MNET can for their show, so they are letting them get a chance to go to those lessons even if they don't get very far in the show. Also, a lot of the underprepared trainees in survival shows don't belong to a company and so have very limited resources but still wanted to attempt to reach their dreams through survival shows.

ISAC last year was basically an unofficial boys planet reunion lol. also, don't worry about the idols you've recognized from other groups, none of them had debuted yet at the time of the show and only became a group after the show had ended (one pact, ampers&one, xlov, evnne, etc.), so at least for these guys their companies weren't splitting up already debuted groups as their groups had not formed yet :)

2025-04-18 17:39:49 +0000 UTCApologies for the rant but here's a ZB1 music info dump based on the songs you said you've listened to: Feel the Pop is definitely a bit more of an acquired taste and I honestly wouldn't really recommend it to someone trying to get into ZB1 in the beginning. I love it now, but when I first heard it I wasn't really a fan, and while the overall happy + summery vibe is definitely a theme in ZB1's music, Feel the Pop isn't really a musical sound you'll hear from them often. It's one of those songs that has a very specific vibe that doesn't always make it easy to listen to, so a lot of people, myself included, grew into liking it rather than liking it from the get-go. Crush is another one that musically they don't have very many songs that sound like it, and it's their least popular title track, which as a Crush appreciator hurts me but it's definitely a departure from their usual style so I can understand why some people didn't love it. It was their first comeback and a lot of people who became fans after their debut reacted very negatively to it (lotssss of toxic fans who only got into them because their debut wasn't typical "boy group music" and didn't want to them to ever explore another style), so they haven't really done anything truly like it since. They have other more typical boy group-sounding songs, but a lot of the more experimental or noise-music type sounds are in their b-sides. Sweat and Good So Bad, however, I can't really explain 😅 they're both pretty popular and are fan favorites so I'm a bit surprised you didn't like them, but to each their own. ZB1 are one of my ults (they share first place with Ateez), but when I was first getting into their music there were definitely songs I didn't like or thought were forgettable, that, after getting into them as people and as a group, I later became obsessed with and now can cause me to ascend into heaven or crash my car. Honestly, watching Boys Planet and getting to know the members could potentially change your feelings on certain things, but they also have a lot of songs so for every song you don't like there's another one you probably will. I hope that even if you don't end up liking their music that the show can at least show you why we love the members so much :)
