Make Sure To Vote in Losers Club, and Roster Discussion!

Last Call for All of the Leaders to Vote in the Losers Club for Next Month's Leader Reward.

If you don't mind chiming in on the conversation. Which do you feel is the proper method for conducting the Loser Club poll? Should it be based on overall votes with the exception being a character must be in more than one poll. So that popular characters that lost will get a second chance (second or third place characters). Or do you think the poll should be based entirely on how many times a character was in the polls regardless of their popularity? A combination of the two?

If you have another suggestion please add your two cents. It turns out both methods look pretty similar.

I'm sorry for reposting for the millionth time. I tried to edit my post and when I hit enter it deleted it instead of making the change. I’m going to try not to touch this one and hope it sticks. I feel like to get into the poll a girl should be in at least 3-4 polls. Likewise, she should have at least 40-50 total votes across all polls. I also wouldn't mind a requirement of at least 10 votes on a single poll. This way we get a solid list of characters who quite often come close but for one reason or another don't quite make it. It would be nice for variety’s sake if this poll also had a franchise ban from the community winner but if not that works too. In terms of poll weighting, I am against doing it. If we look at total votes, a girl who gets a close 2nd would probably win anyways (unless affected by the franchise ban). If we look at total appearances, just because a girl is in a lot of polls, it doesn’t mean she is a viable character. For instance, if a character were in 12 polls but got 0-2 votes in each, it would be unfair for her to be weighted above a character who was in 8 polls but frequently got 5-10 votes. If you are set on doing poll weighting, I would only count votes and appearances in community polls. If loser polls are included as well would give an unfair advantage to girls in the current months losers club over girls entering the club the next week. Weighting votes makes sense on the community poll because everyone is on a different tier. Since the losers poll is exclusive to leaders, the only effect weighting should have (if it is included) is determining who makes the cut. Once the poll goes live one vote should only be one vote. Using this last poll. I know EDI has been discussed by quite a few people. I don’t think I would ever really vote for her but I wouldn’t mind if she won. She consistently polls well (20+/-5 votes) and has appeared in quite a few polls. I would also like to use a hypothetical example of Edna Mode from The Incredibles (if you actually like her and want to see her in HS, I’m sorry). Let’s say I enter her in the polls 12 times and each time, I am the only one voting for her. If there is no minimum total votes needed to be in the losers club and/or characters are weighted higher for being in a lot of polls, the Enda would eventually get weighted to the top by just me voting for her. Considering that 73, takes commissions. If I had a character like Enda I would either find a new character to put in the poll or commission her. She shouldn’t get made just because I keep solo voting her to the top. One thing to keep in mind is that girls in this tier can give people an incentive to jump up a patreon tier or two to acquire. A girl like Tifa will no doubt cause some people to hop up to get. I’m fairly confident a character like Edna never would. Sorry for the long-winded post, when creators ask for input on the direction they are taking a tier reward, I like to include the logic behind my choice. I am more then happy to discuss why I feel this way with anyone who agrees or disagrees. I also appreciate 73 for asking for our input and will be happy with whatever we get.

wait so you're still going to do your version of tifa next right? Just curious.

Andrew

Yeah Tifa takes it for this poll. I even tried my new weighting system giving the characters votes based on how many times they have been in the polls and Tifa still edges out cassie by one point.

Basically Tifa may win this time then it's good for me....but still i think it's plausible to give the loser poll additional weighted credits based on how many times they have lost

Sin_Salus

Yeah that's a bit complicated Ban, but the idea is correct. What im thinking of settling on is combining both methods. By increasing the roster from 10 to about 14 to 16 with half being from each method. Then give the characters additional votes based on the # of polls they have lost.

73lac7c

I think it should be a combination of both. It should be weighted for the second and third place losers to have higher weight than the characters that have appeared multiple times. I might be making this complicated, for example, using the last community poll Tifa was 2nd and Scarlet was 3rd. They will get 50 and 30 points respectively, the maximum will be 100 points. Additionally, each time a character appears in the loser's club will add 10 points to their total. Eventually, the long members of the loser's club will hopefully win a poll, allowing those who don't have many points to appear and have their chance. 50 points seemed fair for second as it should give the second place winner enough points to consistently appear on the loser's poll.

Ban

EDI has been in the most polls she deserves her time.

73lac7c

Put in the ones based on how many times they appeared in polls.

MODOK

i just want the robot bitch goddamnit :(

You could combine popularity with times the character appeared. Take the amount of appearances and use it as the starting point of a poll. Popular characters can naturally lead but still be overtaken. Altough it may be a dumb idea and very unsatisfying if a character somebody wants, that has appeared the most for example still looses. - Still maybe useful... just something that popped up while reading this message.

Hm sounds like you just want everything to me xD. Those Resident Evil Characters seem to be a nightmare to get right Im not sure why. I remade her look/preview 3 times to finally settle on the released version. Yeah the ME models are quite old I haven't looked at them in a while but the liara model / textures were quite low poly/res. True the FF7R characters do help me grow. I had another insane patron growth spurt this month (+45) I assume because of Aerith, or maybe partnering with Oreo, but you are right they are good for community growth.

73lac7c

Cassie, EDI & Miranda are longtime guests, they just should be done 'cause that, although I fear the low poly quality of ME chars (subdivide lips/mouth for less edges?). And about Claire, after Jill turned out so well, I want Claire in similar quality, 'cause morphs matter. Btw the new FF7 remake char models are just good for "business " as their popularity shows, with 'em 73lac7c can boost his patreon.

To be honest i personally don't like to see Tifa there. As some people already said, there is trillions of mods of her already. But at the same time, ppl asked for it and voted for it. I wouldn't like to see a character i wanted get a second place and don't get the chance to win it later, giving the spot to another one, so it's kinda hard to find the solution here that pleases everyone.

Untaldepepe

I believe that each case has its flaws. If you just give another chance to a runner up that got a lot of votes, way ahead of the third (like Tifa in the last poll), it's almost certain that she will win the losers, but at the same time, if a girl gets that close to win, and then don't have the chance to win again, while others that didnt get many votes have, it's kinda unfair. To me a solution should something combining the two, putting in the ones that almost got there last poll, and others that got in poll a lot of times. Maybe giving the unpopular characters extra votes already at the beginning based on how many times it got in, or based on the total votes it received. With this, an unpopular returning character will eventually win. How fast is it gonna be? Depends on how many times it appeared or got voted. With that if a character is THAT unpopular, they are still going to lose.

Untaldepepe

So would you be okay with the Leader reward being from a pool of the least favorable characters?

73lac7c

I think the latter, for this particular selection. If they've been in the polls multiple times and kept losing, regardless of their popularity, then they truly belong in the "Losers Club".
