2024-09-18 18:33:08 +0000 UTCI think it's really because the stakes of the episode in season 1 were hinged on Mark and the astronauts coming home without any sequids. By the time they're flying back to earth, a sequid being on the ship with them just has much worse implications than a martian being on the ship.

2024-09-18 02:06:16 +0000 UTCI find it odd that so many reactors think the Shapesmith is a sequid controlled Martian...the whole point of the Martians attempting to kill the visiting astronauts was because the sequids CAN'T control them and needed a compatible life form, like humans, to connect into a hive mind to rise up against the Martians and continue expanding across the universe. I guess it's easy to miss in season one since it's just the one episode amongst all the stuff going on, but still seems odd to me that I have yet to find a reactor that doesn't remember that.
