Way late, but GREAT reaction. One note I have for you guys when you watch horror films: you guys were especially hard on Helen for making decisions as though she should KNOW she's in a horror film... when you watch that genre, you can't get mad at a character for not making choices like they know they're in a film.
It's especially true for this film. She was absolutely correct to assume Candyman was a myth and in fact, she was right. She solved a murder, but the story turned out to be about a character that went meta and forced itself on her. The main theme behind the film, and what's scary about it is this: if people believe something strong enough, even if it's false, it can become real.
But if you disagree, go say Candyman 5 times in the mirror :)
