This has always been a favorite of mine, it's funny, has great satire and probably has my favorite final girl of any horror film, to me it's just so much fun, brings me back to those great horror films that I think aren't really made anymore. This was always a great whodoneit movie, you automatic suspect Billy but then you keep doubting it since it's so predictable, you keep questioning yourself because your sure that it being him is too easy but that's what they wanted you to do. They give you so many red herrings like her father, a lot of people thought it was going to be Dewey, mostly because he tended to not show up until after something happened or when they showed the close up of the sheriff's boot, the same boot as the killer and a lot of people also suspected the principle after the incident with those two students. Also no one was expecting there to be two killers, it's very rare in a horror film that there are two. When this came out the biggest star was Drew Barrymore (Casey) and she was all over the marketing and posters, everyone thought she was going to be the final girl so when she was killed in the very beginning it was a big deal. And she was suppose to be but Drew thought it would be better if she was killed first. Here's some fun facts: The reporter that asked Sydney what it was like to almost be butchered was Linda Blaire, she was Regan from the Exorcist. They mention ET (Drew Barrymore was in that), Wes makes a cameo as the janitor and pokes fun at his own movies. Most of Matthew Lillard's dialog was ad-libbed, such as the mom and dad line. houston we have a problem here, I always had a thing for you Syd and the moment when Billy hit him with the phone was by complete accident, the phone slipped out of Skeet Ulrich hand from the fake blood and really hit him and he ad-libbed that line and kept going. Also Dewey was suppose to die but the test audience loved him so much that they had him live in the end. None of the cast met the actor who provided the voice for ghostface, both girls are really talking to him.
