And there's no preachyness in old Disney films. These days it seems like every film especially Disney treats its audience as if we are bad people who need to learn some kind of lesson from every movie. Films these days just don't trust their audience to know that bad people are bad and good people are good so they try to preach to you.

2024-01-21 20:07:38 +0000 UTCI love this one, to this is one of Pixar's most underrated films, it was popular but I feel like no one really talks about it anymore or names it one of the best, I can't say it's my all time favorite but it is up there. I love how detailed the ocean is, I'm quite fascinated by it, we actually know more about space then we do the ocean and surprisingly there's not that many animated films that centers in the ocean. You can tell that the creators worked hard on designing all the fish and researching them, I had no idea that fish with the light is a real fish and it's even more scary looking in real life, lol. I love the relationship between Nemo & Marlin, they both went through a journey. And all of Nemo's aquarium gang are all great with fun personalities. And of course Dory is funny, I like that at first they play her memory loss as a joke but as the film goes on you really see how much she suffers through it. Yeah, the message is great, this one is definitely more for the parents. I love Dory's line when they're in the whale. And a fun fact, they named Bruce the shark as a reference to Jaws, that's what Steven Spielberg named the shark. I actually highly recommend checking out Finding Dory in the near future, I'm not that big of a fan of Pixar's sequels apart from Toy Story 2 and 3 but this one was surprisingly really good.

Picture a man that falls so much with this movie that he buys a ton of merch, and since he happens to be a dentist, buys Finding Nemo Themed medical scrubs for his office staff. Every time I came home, I'd see my father would have added to his collection. We're talking bathroom sets to party napkins. He loved this movie. And so do I, very much. And on a serious note, every time we talked and I was having a hard time, he told me to keep swimming. Sadly he passed just before Finding Dory came out, so it's hard for me to watch both movies. But this movie always meant a lot to me and my family.
