Day two demo

Day two test

So I've added a few new clothing items, but the main bulk of this demo is new code. The clothing system, has been updated to split outfits into upper and lower. There is now theme checks on all the clothing, so the game knows exactly what fetish items you are wearing. It can even tell if that clothing is covered up. For instance if your wearing panties, but they are covered by pants. This will allow me to quickly customize dialogue, for what you are wearing.

I've also added two new switches to the game. One to disable character animations, so it will only display a still image, and one to simplify the scene animations, so It plays as a slideshow instead of a full animation. That way people who's computer's struggle to show the animations can still enjoy the game.

All of this coding was made possible thanks to Koda's very generous help. I'm extremely excited by what all of this will allow me to do with the game, and you can look forward to an extremely expanded day two.

That being said, It's become apparent that I will have to start from scratch with day two. I started day one with no prior experience, and it's full of so much bloat that coding in future days just isn't realistic. This is to say, that previous saves won't work in day two.

You will still be able to carry over all your previous decisions, you will just have to enter them at the start of the game. I'm trying to future proof the next build as much as I can, so hopefully this is the only time I will have to do this.  Don't worry, this will not slow down the next release, if anything it should speed things up not having to work around the mess from day one.

Will check it out today

very strange. I'll look into that.

Taco

It's more work, but not by that much. I'll probably hold a poll in a few days and ask people.

Taco

To be honest, if its animations on, it runs fine, if you have animations off, what I would recommend (and its more work, sorry) is the start picture, add in some text/dialogue, and then show the final picture/end result, or the picture that has the most effect. like I would do it like >show him in glass "Look at you, you wanna get out? how about I help you get out, but you're gonna have to swim" >show final picture "phew, can't get out? thats a shame, I'm feeling empty, but maybe I can get a little more out if you beg me. Go ahead, beg me to piss on you"

Raven Leaf

the non animations, it moves like the slide frame. its working as intended, but for me I personally don't like it. its the one that does it slide by slide instead of animation

Raven Leaf

You're just referring to the scene animation right? I don't see why the player animations would be jerky. Yeah I'm not totally happy with the scene animation turned off. Do you think it would be better to just show some still images?

Taco

main menu (like before you start the game) credits DID work, its just the menu didn't after that. its stopped highlighting. you can scroll though, but you have no idea what you're picking

Raven Leaf

Which menu is that? the main menu? also did the credits not work?

Taco

all the outfit combinations were interesting, didn't find a flaw with them, it did seem to combine things if I had say both the onsie and the gag, so all those worked, but I didn't test it as thoroughly as I could have. The only bug you have is actually with your menu, if you scroll through it, the highlight disappears (or maybe its cus I tried to read the credits) either way, the highlight disappeared and it makes navigating the menu tricky

Raven Leaf

I just tested the animation stuff, for me the animations run smoothly. Turning them off makes it very jerky/distracting. I haven't really had issues with the flashes or animations, so the animations are just fine for me. I definitely think it looks smooth. Turning them off is...I guess a way to get around if you can't use the animations, but having the animations is definitely better I'm gonna try out all the different outfit stuff now and see how it goes. It should be noted, putting on clothes doesn't change the nude sprite on the map, but I don't suppose its meant to in the demo

Raven Leaf

can't speak for everyone, but I for one would like one comprehensive flowing game eventually, but there isn't a rush to "fix" day one, more like...something to do if you wanted to make a "definitive edition" for second class instead of people doing a day/by day episode

Raven Leaf

The bloat is already fixed in day two, it would just be a matter of importing the scenes and fixing all of the events. It would take me a couple of weeks, if I didn't redo any of the renders.

Taco

If that's what people want then yes. Honestly I could redo it after I release day 2 if it's something people want.

Taco

not now, (like far in the future), if you fix the bloating issue, do you think there will come a time, you'll re-do day 1 and then make the game into one comprehensive flowing game?
