Night at the Museum: Battle for the Smithsonian Full Movie Reaction!

This one has a lot more bigger ideas and truly expands the powers of the tablet a lot, I loved all the new ideas and world building; but the forced romance that didn't quite feel right till it was too late and sidelining the other characters just felt so weird. Specifically sidelining Robin Williams felt so sad, wanted to see more development with him and Sacajawea. I feel like they just had too much going on, which is normal in sequels to make it bigger and better; just wished they dialed it back a bit.

I agree with you, I feel like if they got rid of the whole forcing of a love interest for Larry it could have helped this movie a ton and take more time for the characters we have come to love to get more time to shine; I think chaotic is definitely the best way to put it. A lot of amazing ideas, but the execution felt a bit lacking.

This was a first time watch and I agree with your critiques at the end. I wasn't a fan of how they pushed Larry/Amelia, but also was disappointed that we didn't get to see much of the characters from the first one. There were so much good scenes but it wasn't as heartfelt as the first movie. I thought the movie here was a bit chaotic, like they didn't know exactly how to make use of the new characters. Some of the side characters didn't add anything to the story. You know something that would've been interesting? If they had brought back Carla Gugino who played Rebecca (the woman who was writing her essay on Sacajawea in the first movie) to help Larry on his mission. I thought they had a nice connection, and it would've felt less forced than Larry/Amelia. It was also a bit weird that he found a ''real life'' Amelia Earhart.

I actually prefer this over the first, I think it's funnier and I liked how they expanded on it, like with the paintings, statues and such. I also really thought it was clever that they made Al Capone & his men black and white, it was a great detail. And they really brought in such funny comedians like Christopher Guest, Hank Azaria, Bill Hadar. But, I completely agree with you. When this came out I was really looking forward to seeing Sacajawea more, I thought she was such an interest character and she didn't get to do much in it but she does less in this and it was disappointing, they all had to take a back seat. And yeah, making Larry and Amelia an item was very forced, I liked them together but they didn't need to be romantic, it honestly didn't even make sense for her character and the kiss scene is so awkward, lol. The only time I really saw chemistry was when they were flying and at the end there when they're saying good-bye but again they didn't need to make them an item. And having everyone say how cute they were or thought they were a good couple was weird and again forced, they just didn't have chemistry most of the time. And even though I did like her I thought a lot of her dialog was a bit much as well. I think they were trying to show how she was from a different time but I don't know, people don't talk like that, lol.
