2025-04-10 18:06:19 +0000 UTCPerhaps in Reiner’s case. Maybe also Bertholdt too. But we’ve seen how the shattering of Reiner’s beliefs & the weight of his sins have fucked him up mentally. Also Were they supposed to somehow get their families out of Marley make it to the island and then be accepted there? Just questions to ask. I think of characters like Pieck & Annie being more pragmatic. They understand that Marley’s brainwashing and propaganda is bullshit, but they also don’t really see what else they can do to change it. Their families are in Marley. Their livelihoods & well-being are tied to Marley. And at this point they believe there’s no going back with the threat of the rumbling and what Eren did and Marley.

Thanks for the shoutout ❤️ The Island of Paradise (Eren) holds the Founding Titan & the Millions of Colossal Wall Titans that can be unleashed on Marley & the world. Is Marley despicable? Yes? However the warriors believe that the power is better in the hands the country they fight for than in the hands of a “Suicidal Maniac” like Eren that will continue to push forward & Attack until all (he perceives as) his Enemies are dead. Perhaps they also believe general Magath who is now a head Marley General (since Eren literally killed most of their leaders) genuinely wants to enact change.
