YEP you read that right, this is what I'm calling complete! And what a gosh dang big journey it's been. To show the progress from last week's update check this link:

The last steps of putting in lighting and water effects, textures and all wasn't so arduous or time consuming, though altogether I think this piece has totaled to around 25 hours now. It takes a whole lot to go from a greyscale shaded sketch like this ->

To a fully colored and rendered piece like what you see here. Now, of course, no picture is perfect, no matter how many hours you put into it. But there comes a point you have to put the tablet pen down and call it done! I am pretty happy with how it's come together and that I pushed myself to accomplish it. I've developed a process to tackle images like this and it's worked, a picture like this needs lots of planning, just as it needs execution.
It seems like once a year I work up the gumption to do such an involved piece, but I should do it more often. With that in mind, I am curious about what I'll do next at this sort of level- maybe another splash 'rework'? Maybe I'll jump to doing one for one of my own characters?
Anyway! Thanks for your time reading about my thoughts on how this turned out and joining me along the way. Don't be shy on commenting! Any thoughts or questions about the process lemme know.
