Nuki News #44 - I drew some Boyfriends!

To clarify- these are my IRL boyfriends’ pokesona characters, they aren't boyfriends with eachother, ahah. :3

February happens to not only have Valentine’s day, but my boyfriends’ birthday as well. If you’ve ever thought going out with an artist would mean gift art galore, whouff lemme tell ya, not the case, ahahah.

I actually don’t draw for my boyfriend often. Back when we only had known each other online, I would more often, since there wasn’t much else I could do outside of voice calls or messaging. Now that I’m with him in real life, I’m able to express my love for him in tons of different ways. He’s also been sweet enough to offer to commission me at times, but for me, it felt weird taking from someone close to me. Ironically because of that, I ended up not giving him much due to time constraints- at times I’d commission other artists to draw something for us, since I’d have my dayjob or commissions to work on.

But now I do this art thing full time, it feels good to draw something for him. In this case, bringing to life characters he had. I tend to make ref sheets for him around this time of year, but this time I not only got to make one, but 2! On top of that, I got to draw them interacting with my pokesona, Benji!

I hope yall enjoyed these- it’s a bit more of an indulgent ‘nuki news’ but I thought sharing what I’m working on the last week is nice for you too! The last one I did for my characters Flint & Sizz seemed to do well, so if yall like this format I’ll do it more often. I also have you to thank for your support, as I wouldn’t have normally been able to draw so much for him this month! It’s nice to have a week to draw something personal. Last month was tackling design, this month for my boyfriend, and next month, I’ll probably be doing some fan art for artists I’ve enjoyed over the years.
