Nuki News #69: The Year so Far...Part 3

I’ve been doing furry art as a full time living for 10 months now. That’s incredible. It won’t be long until it’s been a year for me, either.

I’ll say off the bat, the 3rd quarter of the year(July-September) are my slump periods, and looking at the goals I had for the year it shows a similar ‘slump’ in some categories.

One is money- which is a bit two fold. I haven’t been growing my patreon presence on Twitter/FA, and the recent increase in paypal fees and me raising my prices probably led to less tips on my commission work. Granted, it’s not like it’s by terribly much so don’t worry! Quarter 3 is behind Quarter 1 by merely 111 bucks, haha. Whereas the 2nd quarter(my high period) was only ahead of Quarter 3 by around $580. Money is money, of course making more of it lets me rest easier when I need to(and splurge a bit too)! But the consequences for my lack of motivation to advertise my patreon page has shown their head! Thank all 38 of you for sticking around still, it really does help me out!

I did slow down on streams a bit, only at 76 now(its possible I had a miscount, but it’d only be by 1)-I’m still on pace to hit 100 streams this year, but knowing November and December are heavy on the holidays, i’ll have less days I’ll be able to stream, so I’ll need to cram a bit of 3-streams-a-week. Speaking of streams though, as you saw I got a 3D model of Artie! That has made streaming even more fun for me and others, and is probably what kept my stream count up despite a dip in my overall mood.

As for my goal of collecting heartfelt comments, I’ve muchly slowed down too, only getting 7 more after last quarter- though that’s likely me not being mindful enough to add more as they come. I recently posted an infographic/comic thing giving advice on befriending furries in the community and got a lot folks really appreciating it! I don’t quite want to associate that with me though- I just felt it could help some people. I didn’t want to have it intrinsically tied to me.

I actually admit I have some anxiety about it because it sorta blew up on twitter especially. I had a wager it might. But it also comes with some folks not being in the right headspace nor the target audience of the post, twisting the advice into something it’s not(I’ve gone to not replying to such comments because it’s a waste of energy, it’s nothing personal). Posting advice on the internet can be pretty intimidating solely for that reason! Which is in large part why I have such a hard time advertising this patreon, because most of the content is me writing down advice or my personal experiences for you to read. :’)

Anyhow, I just wanted to give yall a quarterly update on how the business has been going. Thanks again for your support here, it helps me more than you know. The comments I get on these posts and those of you who reach out to me in messages elsewhere letting me know you read this matters a lot to me!<3
