前回の続きから。

カムイワッカ湯の滝から国道334号をひたすら下り、

羅臼町へ入りました。

Continuing from last time.

From Kamuiwakka Hot Spring Falls, we continued down Route 334.

I entered the town of Rausu.

すぐ隣には知床峠が一望できます。

1本道をさらに南下すると、温泉を発見！

Right next to it is a panoramic view of the Shiretoko Pass.

Further south on one road, I found a hot spring!

こちらは「熊の湯」といい、無料で入浴できる露天風呂。

男女別で、脱衣所もあるため誰でも気軽に入ることができます。

This one is called "Bear's Hot Spring" and is an open-air bath that is free of charge.

Men and women are separated, and there is a changing area so anyone can easily enter.

女性風呂には囲いがあり、安心して入ることができました。

泉質は、硫黄の香りが漂う塩化物泉。

源泉温度が高いので、ホースで水を足しながら入ります。

The women's bath was enclosed and safe to enter.

The spring water is a chloride spring with a scent of sulfur.

The temperature of the spring water is high, so you have to add water with a hose as you enter the bath.

男性風呂の方で、鹿が覗いていると聞き、誰もいなかったので覗かせていただきました。

よく鹿の湯という名の温泉で、

鹿が温泉に浸かり、傷を癒したという由来を聞きますが、

本当に鹿は温泉が好きなのだと実感しました。

この子も傷を癒しにきたのかな。

I heard that deer were peeking in the men's bath, and since no one was there, I took a peek.

I have heard that deer soaked in the hot spring and healed their wounds.

I realized that deer really like hot springs.

I wondered if this little deer also came to heal its wounds.

熊の湯のすぐ隣には、キャンプ場もあるのでとても便利です。

さらに道を南下し、標津町を通り、弟子屈町へ向かいます。

まず向かったのは、摩周湖。

There is a campground right next to Kumanoyu, which is very convenient.

Further south on the road, we passed through Shibetsu Town and headed for Teshikaga Town.

Our first destination was Lake Mashu.

さすが霧の摩周湖。

1年のうち100日以上も霧に囲まれているそう。

私が行った時は、台風が近づいているせいか雲の動きが早く、

湖が見えたり曇ったりの繰り返しでした。

Lake Mashu is indeed a misty lake.

It is said to be surrounded by fog more than 100 days a year.

When I went there, the clouds were moving quickly due to an approaching typhoon.

The lake was visible and cloudy repeatedly.

川湯温泉でまたも鹿を発見🦌

次は、屈斜路湖を目指します。

Next, I will go to Lake Kussharo.

やっと晴れた〜☀︎

屈斜路湖沿いにある「砂湯」に来ました。

足湯があったので、浸かりながら次のルートを確認しています。

屈斜路湖あたりにも無料で入れる温泉がいくつかあると知り、

さっそく向かってみます！

It finally cleared up ☀︎.

I came to "Sunayu" located along Lake Kussharo.

There was a footbath, so we soaked and checked our next route.

I learned that there are several free hot springs around Lake Kussharo.

I'm heading there right away!

「池の湯」に到着しました。

その名の通り、池のように大きな露天風呂。

藻が多く、とても滑りやすいので、注意が必要です。

I arrived at "Ikenoyu."

As the name suggests, this open-air bath is as large as a pond.

It is very slippery with a lot of algae, so be careful.

お次は、池の湯と同じ通りにある「コタン温泉」に行ってきました。

Next, I visited Kotan Onsen, located on the same street as Ikenoyu.

こちらも無料の露天風呂。

北海道って無料の温泉が多すぎません？有難いです🙏

お風呂の水面が湖面の高さとほぼ同じ位置し、

すぐ目の前から屈斜路湖が一望できる絶景露天風呂。

お湯の温度もちょうど良く、長湯するのにぴったりです。

また大きな岩で男女別に分けられているため、安心です♪

冬の季節には、屈斜路湖に白鳥たちが浮かぶ様子が見られるそう。

ぜひその頃にも行ってみたいです。

This is also a free open-air bath.

Isn't there too many free onsen in Hokkaido?

The surface of the water in the bath is almost the same height as the surface of the lake.

The water level of the bath is almost the same as the lake level, and you can see Lake Kussharo right in front of you.

The temperature of the water is just right, perfect for a long soak.

The baths are separated for men and women by a large rock, so you can rest assured that you are in safe hands.

During the winter season, swans can be seen floating on Lake Kussharo.

I would love to visit during that time as well.

お次は「和琴半島」へ。

和琴半島は、コタン温泉から車で10分ほどの距離にある半島です。

Next, we will visit the Wakoto Peninsula.

Wakoto Peninsula is a peninsula about a 10-minute drive from Kotan Onsen.

和琴半島にもまた、無料で入れる混浴露天風呂がありました。

大きな三日月形の湯船で、２４時間誰でもはいることができます。

湯加減もちょうど良く、地元の方っぽい方がたくさん入れ替わりで来ておられました。

駐車場が目の前なので、皆さん裸で出て、裸で帰っていく様子が面白かったです。

The Wakoto Peninsula also has a free mixed bathing open-air bath.

It is a large crescent-shaped bathtub, and anyone can enter 24 hours a day.

The water was just the right level, and there were many locals who came by in shifts.

The parking lot is right in front of the bathhouse, so it was interesting to see how everyone came out naked and left naked.

半島の周りは、歩いて一周することができます。

せっかくなので散策してみます。

You can walk around the peninsula.

Since I am here, I will take a stroll.

綺麗な階段があり、ちゃんと道が整備されています。

There are beautiful stairs and the path is properly maintained.

20分ほど歩くと、湖岸ぎりぎりに建てられた小さな空き家のような小屋がありました。

中を覗いてみると、、

After walking for about 20 minutes, I found a small, empty shack that was built right on the edge of the lakeshore.

I took a peek inside.

温泉、！

こちらは「和琴公衆浴場」という混浴共同浴場。

脱衣所と浴室があるという充分な設備。

こちらも２４時間いつでも無料で入れます。

天国ですか。

Found a hot spring!

This is a mixed public bathhouse called "Wakoto Public Bathhouse".

It is fully equipped with a changing room and a bathroom.

You can enter here for free 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Is it heaven?

お湯の温度は熱く、底がぬるいため

湯もみをするとちょうどいい具合になります。

The water is hot and the bottom is lukewarm.

The temperature of the hot water is hot and the bottom is lukewarm, so the hot water will be just right when you stir it.

電気などはありませんが、

窓から太陽の光が入り、日中はちょうどいい明るさ。

夜は真っ暗なのでライトを持っていくことをお勧めします。

Although there are no lights, etc.

The sun shines through the windows and the light is just right during the day.

It is recommended that you bring a light with you as it is pitch black at night.

窓からは青い空とすぐ目の前に屈斜路湖が広がり、いい眺めです。

外の風も入り、気持ちいい。

From the window, there is a nice view of the blue sky and Lake Kussharo right in front of me.

The breeze from outside also comes in and feels good.

お風呂上がりは湖辺でゆっくり。

穏やかに過ぎていく時間がとても心地いいです。

気づいた時にはこの和琴半島に3日間も滞在してました。

I found myself staying here on the Wakoto Peninsula for three days.
