"CAMRIDE" vs. "ingetrated CAMRIDE" - Community decision
Added 2021-02-12 09:18:57 +0000 UTCAfter the latest VaM update it is possible for us to integrate CAMRIDE versions into our MoCap default scenes. It turns out this new way of viewing our scenes has pros and cons.
So lets sum it up a little.
Pro integrated Camride
-> reduced file size to one single scene
-> A integrated screen makes it possible to view the Camride & default version at once
-> Ability to create a DIY camride version makes a separate Camride obsolete
Con integrated Camride
-> the DIY camride might need some effort to create
-> DIY camrides are not designed to be watched as full camride in the first instance
-> Reduced accessability / freedom of choice between the camride / default version
-> Watching the integrated Camride generates FPS impacts
Since we are an interactive community it is your decision now how future MoCaps are going to be watched. If you want to point something out for us/others just write it into the comment section.
Have a great day

2021-08-06 15:15:03 +0000 UTCI've enjoyed the Camrides in VR as it often masks any inconsistencies with the animation. Also the ability to minimize viewer input by setting aside the VR controllers & allowing the automated camera to pan provides a heightened performance orientated experience. Fortunately I'm not prone to motion sickness.

2021-02-17 02:48:26 +0000 UTCThe last thing you guys made left my VR oriented upside down. Don't know what happened but I think it was the camride integration.

2021-02-13 21:44:55 +0000 UTCTbh, I don't know how much work the camride is, but maybe do a poll how many people actually watch the camride? If few people watch the camride, you might consider saving time and energy and skip it altogether. Personally I don't watch the camrides because they make nauseous in VR.

2021-02-12 20:34:52 +0000 UTCI already combined old non-var scene files in one directory in order to avoid asset duplication. But as var-files are compressed file size doesn't matter that much anymore.

2021-02-12 11:02:08 +0000 UTCpersonally i don't care about the camride, but i do wonder why you do not simply put two different scene files in the var file. with this you would not need to double all the assets and the resulting file size should be smaller than what you would get with two seperate var files. just a thought...
