WIP: Next video in the works!

Hello! I'll be posting weekly updates about my progress, but I don't want to give everything away yet! Can you guess the theme of the video from these screenshots? Hmm...

I'm happy to say that I finished the idea and layout of the next video! This is going to be on the longer side. Layout is around 40 seconds long! A bit more than the Sharlayan Date video...and all of it is animated, no ingame cutscenes to fill time. I've also divided it in 10 scenes/shots, as you can kinda see in the outliner there:

The day I found out about Blender's scene feature, it changed my life. Did you know my first two videos I didn't know this was a thing and I made a huge, confusing headache-inducing timeline?! Sometimes I just like to learn the hard way...

Oh, and this time I'm using 3D environments, but mixing in some ingame footage in the editing depending on the shot. You might see me ingame this week going in and out of this library filming in gpose like a tourist.

Defining the idea and finishing a rough layout took me around 2 days of work. I'm estimating it will take me 3 weeks to finish this one, which is my usual, but let's see if I can make it even faster!

It will also be the first time I'm using a game rig that isn't a human PC/NPC character. I think I'm missing something, but trying to pose this mammet is...an experience. It's fine, I can make it work! I didn't even know it would come with a rig from textools. I was assuming I would need to adapt a lala rig to it! Maybe it would be easier to animate if I did, though.

Now because I'm impatient, I've already started adding lights to the scene. It's not something you need to do at this stage - I could only do this after animating the characters - but I think it's fun to be able to see a more final look during the process. I'm trying to get as close as possible in Blender to the lights of it ingame. Here is a comparison:

I'm already very excited to keep going with this one. It's an idea I had ever since a certain quest came out, but other ideas took its place, and now I think it's the time to make it. I was worried that not everyone will have the context for it, but after finishing the layout, I think it's going to be fun nonetheless!
