Hello! Took me a little longer than usual to post my thursday update this time...I was watching the Live Letter. :P
Viper looks really cool~ wondering if I should try to main it...DPS queues scare me though. And I will stay as a tank for my static, maybe try DRK this time and headcanon it as "Lizard goes emo because G'raha isn't going to Tural".
ANYWAY, let me talk about the animation I'm working on! I was actually finishing another shot during the LL - which did cause a few instances of "oh no I forgot to unpause OBS again", so hopefully the footage is not TOO chopped.
Red highlighted parts are done! A little more of the audio has also been added, and a bunch of effects.
I still didn't get to that one scene I mentioned before, but I did animate 8 seconds more this week! So there should be around 20 left to make, give or take (it's been slightly changing back and forth as I edit things together). I still might try to finish it by the end of next week, maybe? I gotta admit, I have been neglecting my actual bills-paying job for a bit as I get more excited to finish this one...oops. Future me will be very upset with me when I have to rush stuff near the deadline. :x
If I only look at the seconds, it sounds like I did way less than last week, but there were a few more time consuming parts there, and I actually couldn't help myself and went back to fix some things that bothered me. Also, I tested more effects for scenes and figured out what to do regarding the flashback filter. It's not 100% identical, but I think it looks better than before!
There's one scene I'm actually really happy with. It's super quick but I think it was one of the best G'raha smile I animated so far?! Look at this pretty boy~
That first part is from the original game cutscene, and I'm actually very happy with how they're blending together. There's a few scenes exactly how they play ingame there, and I'm trying my best so they don't look too glaringly different. I hope it works well enough, at least when watching it all without pausing and looking at the details...there some obvious differences in the rig that I don't really know how to fix right now, so I'm trying to make them less noticeable in other ways.
This pose was particularly challenging because his shoulders would twist in very weird ways and I don't think I want to tweak the rig for that...I think I managed to find a good enough angle to make them less obvious.
But some rig adjustments might be unavoidable, like this one. I need to figure out how to take this weird line from the middle of her face, even with a bunch of light effects over it, I can't unsee it!!! It's a problem with my DRG Lizard rig. I didn't look at it yet, but I have a few ideas what it might be. It's always been there, but I chose to ignore it up until now...in last case I can just replace the whole face with the WAR rig that doesn't have that. I will try to finish everything else before looking into it though, but since I finished this one shot, it made me really think about it now.
And this is it so far! I'm starting to feel like the video is starting to flow better now, so I'm actually happy with my progress this week. :)
Thank you very much for reading and for your support!
