Animating a Shot: G'raha Smile

Hello! Happy...sunday...well, it's still sunday where I live. :x

I usually post them early in the morning, but I had to touch grass for a while and the video was late!

Anyway, here I talk a little bit about animating the G'raha smile shot I did this week, the one I mentioned it during my thursday post. I'm actually pretty satisfied with the result and wanted to go over how I animated it and what I usually think about when trying to get facial expressions right.

Also, as for the background "trick" I used with the bow...I just have to say I don't necessarily recommend it! It was fun to try it out and I think it helped get the hookup of the shots easier, but if you notice it closely, now that I pointed it out, you will see that at the very end the bow and his body don't match completely. I decide it to leave it like that because when watching the full video I don't think it will be really noticeable and it's fine, but I assume this won't be super useful in other situations. Well, it is an option anyway and I'm happy I tried it out. :P

Thank you very much for your support!

I feel the same way. The graph editor is still such a mystery to me! But it seems so massively important. I've seen lots of animators who ONLY use the graph editor! Wizards

Oh you should definitely try it! Let me know if it works for you! It can make some adjustments much easier, even if you don't use it for every part of the rig for fine adjustments, getting the main hip controller looking more smooth with it helps me a lot!

I definitely have to look into using the graph editor way more! The way you use it is just blowing my mind, and I can see how you can make such smooth animations with it!!
