WIP: New video in less than a week!

Hello! How is everyone? This week went by pretty fast. Every week recently feels like this and sometimes it seems I can't keep up. But it's fine...I think?

The video is almost done! 2 shots left, the very last ones. I might be able to finish it by sunday if I get enough time this weekend! They're two mostly facial-focused shots, which usually take me less time to finish than body mechanics. Then I just have to tweak and make sure the colors and effects are working, and finalize the audio.

I need to test this one in other monitors. I'm worried that because the place they're in is a very dark and boring looking cave, it might be looking too dark and unbalanced right now. Color balancing is hard.

At least I got to put a pretty purple light coming from the crystal, so it makes her stand out more while holding it. Also, look at that messy timeline! I kinda lost control over it as the video went by.

I don't know if I'm super confident in how good this video is, because it doesn't change that much from the original scene to be completely honest. But at least now I have it in my "collection" with Lizard's unique reaction and camera. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless! :)

And also, it's yet another excuse to use the "shoujo bubbles"/bokeh prisms in scenes. I love those. I want to use them more. Maybe that's because I'm excited for Kimi ni Todoke season 3...I wonder if it will give me more ideas.

One thing I've been noticing while making this one is that...we don't have many BGM for romantic situations, do we? Or am I just not remembering them all? I'm using the same song used in the original scene (Canticle) but I feel like it needs something better to fit the vibes I'm going for. It's expected since we don't have a lot of romance-focused questlines. The ones I can think of are the warrior job quests (which are more towards comedy), and the crystarium relic tools from EW - which is the most directly romantic quest in game, with an actual proposal and wedding. And interestingly, the one song that plays during their scene is the one I consider to be the most "romantic-coded" song in the game..."Forever at Your Side". Which I think plays for the first time during the final Exarch scene in 5.3....heheheh.

Anyway, my point is, I've been playing around with editing that in place, or mixing it, or deciding if I even should use it, but I wish we had more options for "lighter" romantic stuff. Forever at Your Side has a lot of weight because of where it plays during G'raha quests, so I'm still deciding if it's a great fit yet, or if I should just follow the original scene's audio with a few sfx to fill in the spaces. Since the scene I'm working on is unvoiced, I feel like there's a lot missing with the audio to fill out the blanks. The audio is something I'm going to be tweaking and changing until the last second I decide to finish this, I'm sure.

I'll do my best to finish it by sunday, or monday at the latest! Because I have a more fun idea for the next one, one kinda more like the "Dance Partner" video...and this time I might finally be able to use the new models! I've been asking around for help with them, and I got new working files to study and learn from. As soon as I figure them out, I will share everything I learn! :D
