WIP: 20 seconds animated!

Hello! Weekly update on the remake video~

50% of the animation done!...of the first part.

How is that in total? Maybe 1/3 of the whole thing? I still need to make the layout and start on the additional bonus scene I want to make at the end, but I decided I'm only going to do that after animating what I already have. I'm having way too much fun animating these scenes!!!

Like this hand shot! That's something I couldn't have before. Hooray for graphically updated fingers! :D

I also already finished the one shot that had lip sync, which made me zoom in G'raha's lips for more than 2 hours straight. I'm not complaining. But well, let me say lip syncing is harrrd...I hope I did it well. Funny thing that I often talked about how having tongues in the new rigs would make lip syncing better, but the one phrase that he speaks in the entire video doesn't really require a tongue. Oh, well.

I was also very focused on making his mouth appear pretty during the entire phrase, which also made me spend even longer adjusting every single controller in there...which is a lot of controllers.

When I'm starting to pose the scene, I try to use as little detail controllers as possible to get to the pose I want, but the more time I spend on it, and the more I get to the minor details, then I start using those to get the exact shape I want. So I try not to be dependent on every controller moving to get to the base pose, but still, it can get almost a little overwhelming by the end. :x I'm happy with the current result, though!

I hope I get more time to work on this during the weekened, because the next shot I have to animate is the one when she goes to kiss him!!! This is where I am now in the timeline, and I'm animating in chronological order.

The kiss shots are most definitely the ones that will take the longer to animate. Not only because they're more complex, since it involves a lot of touching and responding to eachother, but they are the focus, right? So I really want to do a good job with them.

If I were to try to estimate, I think until next week, unless something goes wrong, I will be able to finish all of the animation of the first part, and then I can start on the bonus scene.

So that would give me about...2~3 weeks more to finish the entire thing? I still have to think about the audio, so maybe more, maybe less. Hopefully less~

I hope you all enjoy it when it's done. I can't help but already compare it with the first one I made, and be incredibly happy with the results. Sometimes it's hard to see your own progress, but having a past work to compare it to side by side can be really motivating!
