Inn Remake Series 03: Animation Overview
Added 2024-09-22 17:44:25 +0000 UTCHello! Next video of the Inn Remake Series, a little bit more about animation tools. :)
This time I go over a general look of some of the basic commands that I use to animate in Blender. I hope it's helpful, specially if you're getting started on using Blender to animate!
I mention in the video as well, but from a technical point of view, there isn't a lot of different tools or "buttons to press", if that makes sense. After you get used to most of what I talk about, it really doesn't feel like a lot, but most of the animation process is about developing how you perceive the movement, understanding what you need to move where and how...kinda like how we learn to draw? (...I assume. I can't draw. :x)
So if you're interested, I also recommend watching more of the timelapse videos I have here! Now I organized the Collections tab here and you can find some of them over there! :D
I enjoy showing them and trying to talk about what I'm doing, so I hope they're helpful!
But if you're the kind of person that loves plugins and different tools and things to make life easier, I am pretty sure there are a lot of add-ons developed for Blender for that, like animation layers and libraries, shortcuts...for now I don't really feel like I need those, but if I ever start using them, I will make sure to recommend and talk about them!
As always, if you have any questions or requests, let me know.
Thank you very much for watching, and for your support!

is this version of mektools still available? im wondering because I cant seem to get any sort of facial movement with the current rig after setting all the facial and hair bones to keep their offset with the head bone (im assuming this might have something to do with the issue but if i dont keep the ofset to the head the face doesnt move with the body). Thanks again for sharing all your work!

2024-09-25 16:24:39 +0000 UTCI'm glad you enjoyed it! It's the mekrig for the body, but the facial rig was a temporary hack made by someone in the mektools discord, because at the time of rigging them, the official release that's compatible with Dawntrail wasn't out yet! I've been watching the discord for it, and they're still working on final adjustments, but they did share the skeletons with compatible facials for use until then :) it looks a bit different but the same controllers are still there!
