WIP: Now to the next one...

Hello~ WIP update! I hope you enjoyed the Late night visit aka Inn Remake video :)

The day of posting it, I actually "finished" the last bit of animation left in the morning, which was that last shot - that was the second hardest shot after the kiss one!

...and then spent the entire day rewatching it and fixing minor stuff. I was at the stage already of not really noticing the emotional bits and tunnel visioned on stuff like "for 2 frames the shadow flicks in this particular pixel here" and just doing a bunch of...I can't think of any word other than "gambiarras". I was doing a lot of gambiarras. English language needs to up their game and add this word to their dictionary.

For example, one of those was masking those blurs around the fingers to hide some of the harsh mesh lines there, instead of trying to figure out what's causing them, fixing, and rendering again.

Would anyone ACTUALLY be bothered by it if I left it alone?

Anyway, I still see things that I wish I had fixed or done differently, but most of the time, it's just better to let go, accept that no project will ever be perfect, and try to fix it for the next one! I'm happy to see people enjoying it and now I'm back to giggling when I watch my favorite characters kiss~ so I'm very satisfied with it.

Plus, if I compare it side by side with the first one from one year ago, the difference is HUGE. How could I not be? <3

It's hard for us to tell our own progress most of the time, but with the direct comparison, I can clearly see how much I've learned the past year. It really reminds us that we will always improve at anything if we just keep doing it.

I'm just a little sad it was the first video I wasn't able to post on twitter and see the reactions there too. :')

Anyway, now I'm back at planning my next video!!!

I know there was the "Champion of Eorzea" idea from the poll...and I AM going to make it! I promise!...

...but I've been re-reading Eorzea Academy these past days and I feel like I have to make a thing now. And it's going to be a long, time-consuming one - by long I mean 1 minute and 30 seconds. So maybe a little more than a month of work? :x

I'd compare it to the otome game video. So lots of new characters to rig, a bunch of short shots and a lot of editing.

I don't want to say too much about it yet since I didn't even finish the layout and things might change...but I'm very excited with the idea. I wonder if you can guess what it is! I'll talk more about it next week when it's more defined.

Also, I'm sorry for delaying last week's video here!! I couldn't get the time to put the footage together to keep the inn remake series going during the week, between work and just having to do something with the new idea.

...to be fair I kinda needed this week to get things organized again. I have this awful habit of neglecting basically everything, including my actual job, when I'm about to finish a video. That last sprint is too tempting! And future-now-present-me was going to suffer for it. So anyway, I'm trying to get things back on track while not stopping myself from the new ideas... but I will work on it during the weekend and hopefully post it on sunday!
