WIP: Just a few more days...

 Almost done!!! Almost! Hello~ weekly update :D

There's only the last shot left to animate and it will be all done! I did have some unexpected issues with one shot, and if it didn't happen, the video would actually be done by now. I might use the weekend to actually finish the animation and delay the weekly video by a couple days. I hope it's okay... :x

The video total is 1 minute and 6 seconds right now...which for me it feels like a lot. I think for anyone just watching videos on the internet, we see a 1 minute video and it's super quick and short, but animating 1 minute takes a long time!! Our perception of time changes when it comes to animation, I think.

And also, I wanted to detail this one as much as I'm able to, so I didn't really worry about finishing it fast.

As for the issues I mentioned...for the first and last shot of the second part, I guess I'm cheating a little bit. Well, it's not cheating, but I'm using a 3D environment instead of the game backgrounds I'm used to. And this one I already had downloaded pre-DT, so to save some time, I didn't really go out of my way to figure out how to download the updated DT environments.

See this hallway? It's not accessible by normal means.

It actually doesn't take you anywhere! Both sides are closed off. It's part of the instance used for the inn room, which is on the other side of the door. :O

They probably built this only for those inn cutscenes.

Originally, I was going to use this footage from the cutscene, but make it look like a little more like it's daytime. Left is the original, right is my attempt to change it.

But I don't like how it looks, and I couldn't get rid of that black part on the right side, so...3D environment instead. For me it's always harder because the lighting gets a little trickier to get right, and render times raise by a lot! There's a lot of objects on ths scene because of the inn room on the other side, so my computer doesn't really like that very much. I actually had to stop recording some of it to not risk everything crashing, so now I don't really have exact numbers on how long this one is taking me. :')

I'm now working on editing and color correcting to make it less obvious. I don't want this change to be noticeable, it should still look like the same environment from the rest of the video, which all uses the cutscene background. Let's see if I can actually do that!

So, expect the new video to come out this weekend, or monday at the latest, maybe! That's what I'm hoping for, anyway. I really hope you all like it, and I can't wait to share more about making it as well.
