It hadn't occurred to me when I left my original comment, but consider this: Nobody knows Lockhart is a fake aside from the teachers, and even then they consider him a fuck-up more than a fake. Kuzuki is a muggle. Smart, professional and "athletic" ("Are you Spiderman?" - Colin(?) Creevey), but still just a muggle. The whole school just watched a muggle beat the wheels off a wizard. This side-story just keeps getting better and better!

In my mind I see Kuzuki and Snape sitting next to each other silently sipping coffee or tea. A sort of silent professional friendship.
