Many Worlds Theory: You're in a Parallel Universe

So, tell me... how do you like being a movie star? I can't imagine your life. You can't walk down the street without being mobbed by adoring fans. You attend power-lunches with your agent. You pose for pictures on the red carpet on your way to collect your third Academy Award. Your life sounds fun.

Wait, what? You're not a movie star? That's not your life? Well, maybe not in *this* universe, but there is a universe out there where your life is exactly as I described.

The "Many Worlds" or "Multiple Universes" theory says that anything that can possibly happen *does* happen. It just happens in a different reality that exists parallel to our own.

There's a reality out there somewhere where you're a best-selling author. There's one where you're a Nobel Prize winning scientist who cured cancer.

There's even a reality out there, where you're an evil dictator plotting to take over the world. And you enforce your will with an army of AI robots that you invented when you were a grad student at Stanford.

Yes, some of these alternate realities are more far-fetched than others. But they *are* all out there.

Scientists know how these realities are formed and people are working on technology to detect them.

But even if we *could* detect alternate universes, there's no way to visit them.

Or is there?

I guess Ace Ventura two got it wrong about the Monopoly guy

Vincent Thomas

Always a pleasure, solid story telling.

David Leatherman

I am convinced the gov is experimenting on the people with the mandala effect bs

Dustin Culver

Why do local radio stations play the Queen version where it does say it? And in the film chicken little, he too says that line?

Dustin Culver

I've said many times, my C3PO was all gold, watched that stupid movie on live tv, my statue of liberty was never blown up, froot loops, I know and on and on....personally I think something happened to the world in 2012. But I have jt and heckle fish so meh..

Cb314

Oh, thanks for explaining. I didn't realise it sounded like that. In fact he didn't get anything wrong (as far as I could tell). Edited my comment.

Ivari Tölp

You are saying he got it wrong, but not horribly.

Harold Ploeg

Was it? I honestly didn't intend it as such.

Ivari Tölp

That was a backhanded compliment.

Harold Ploeg

👋👍

Cb314

This one was great! I enjoyed one that was more on physics and less on conspiracy theories (just for a change… I love conspiracy theories 😆). Also, as a physics nerd (not professionally, but I have studied it for a good while) I'm glad to see you got none of it wrong.

Ivari Tölp

Love this episode! I only wish I had a Hecklefish plushie that I ordered in July to watch it with. 😁 Maybe it got shipped through a wormhole, and I'll get it in another hundred thousand years.

Shanon Freeman

I read that same article yesterday. Found a link to it on Reddit. Looks genuine to me. I sent it through to WF on the Tips page.

Susi Su

The send-up to Joe Scott was priceless!

Armando Mistral

Saw queen in concert several times in mid late 70s

Bosco Lemonzit

They said, after the first verse and chorus, as they say “of the world” at the end, there’s two chorus at the end and says after the first one, they say of the world, but then they cut off after champion yet when they go to live performances, most of them put “of the world “ at the end of the second chorus so that’s kind of where that comes from

Bosco Lemonzit

You know that’s interesting because just about anybody you ask if you give them an option as the supreme being says would you like to reboot to 1999 everybody answers yes to that question so did something happen around the year 2010 interesting idea that we definitely took the wrong road somewhere back around then

Bosco Lemonzit

Almost every item listed for the Mandela effect can be explained Mandela didn’t die in the 80s it was another black leader in South Africa etc. etc. But the one that loops me completely is the claim in moonraker when Jaws smiles at the end with his mouth full of metal and the pretty young Swiss or German girl smiles back. She had a mouth full of braces and wires. I asked a buddy of mine he’s checked with friends He said the braces everybody he’s asked immediately say braces and they are not there. That’s the one that throws me for a loop. I even posted a link a few weeks ago to an article from some Dinkytown newspaper in Illinois back in the early 70s and in the article -guy reviewing the movie and says she has a mouth full of braces

Bosco Lemonzit

Also Lolol the who’s the boss joke with Tony Danza had me rolling

Chris Conlan

Ima need a alternative universe talking AJ plushie spaceman ASAP!!

Chris Conlan

As a early fan and Patreon member, I’m excited to share say I absolutely loved this episode! It felt like you returned to your origins of science, and empathy for people. I hugged my Heckle plushie as I viewed the episode. Thank you for continuing to be genuine!!

Susan Towers

Loved it!

Tiph Tobie

Love when those positive messages like at the end are tied into the episodes <3

Aidan

Amazing AS ALWAYS!!!

7Heather7

Such a great episode. Enjoyed it a lot. Your whole team does such great work.

Jen Giresi

So I don’t know the EdMcMahon one please tell me! I one hundred percent remember the girl having braces because I had them at the time that I saw the movie in the theater. I think those of us who are really experiencing the Mandela effect were teenagers in the 80’s. I remember making a T-shirt about freeing Nelson Mandela and even have a photo of me making it in my high school yearbook and then when he died I was devastated. Then when I heard he died in the 2000’s I was shocked and figured I must been losing my mind !

DBS PURGE

Wow there are so many Patreons now! I used to wait a couple minutes to see my name but this time I had time to travel through a worm hole and then come back. Gino's a tea guy over there. Ah my name should pop any time soon now, see ya Lizzid people!

Simon

I think this is my favorite video you have made and I definitely think there is a whole lot we just don’t understand. So glad that you put all of this into one video - sharing it with friends on YouTube.

DBS PURGE

wow this make so much sense

Andrew Key

If wormholes exist, are there wormhole aliens and Pah-Wraiths? Asking for my friend Sisko.

Scott Crawford

Amazing episode as always....one little thing...."We are the Champions" is not really a Mandela effect. Freddy sometimes sings it at the end of the first chorus, and not always at the end of the song. However, in every version of the song he does always sing it at some point. Like here it actually does end with "of the world". https://youtu.be/KXw8CRapg7k?si=sEtR9X-7zSoW8-Zq

!!@@Tomasz Mis@@!!

I knew I hit the lottery yesterday! It just wasn't in this universe! Damn!

Christopher Nichols

Hecklefish was on fire in this one! He was ultraviolet

Jared Rasmussen

GREAT episode guys! Maybe the best yet on so many levels! Thank you so much! LOVE to the whole Why Files team ❤️

Adam Nevatt

Best episode I’ve seen yet! Thanks AJ!

George Bassett

A universe where Mark Chapman got hit by a bus and John Lennon glanced over and kept walking.

Brad Moran

He had to show that F-16! Now I'm going to have to binge air craft related content!

Shawn Grant

FANTASTIC episode!!!! More, more, more!!!! :)

19BiGRED74

Great episode, but what about white holes and singularities? We’re supposedly made up of those…

Kat Gamage

there's a universe where my living room carpet got vacuumed today, and that makes me happy for other-universe me.

Whiskey Tango-Foxtrot

I have been aware of this for many years, and I do have visions of things, I believed to be my last many lives. At the end of queen, mercury does say of the world, I have sang it many time, listened to it, thousands times, Just got to wait, and not cut it off near the end, wait for it to finish. The radio does that all the time, starts a new song before the last ends completely.

John Seychel

Fascinating, and of course there is so much more. You did a great job. Thank you.

Kazren

Best show. Makes you smarter for watching. Lol.

Jesse Howard

Ok I’m completely disturbed. It makes sense. Dang. I’ve been bad. lol.

Jesse Howard

Shout out for the Answers with Joe reference !!!

CJAY SEVEN

Great Job , Excellent Episode😆

Heft 42°

Queen does say "Of the world" tho

Steven

Really one of the best episodes so far - goes deep but keeps it breezy and pacey, great graphics and very funny bits

Stu Ferrol

I don’t know if you different music in every episode but I really loved the music in this one. Loved it.

GibsonMagicTime

I am not an evil dictator. I am a fair but...

MikeD

I rewatched it recently after 10 years and it’s still great! I forgot so many things.

GibsonMagicTime

Believe whatever you want. Everything you described in the Mandela effect… I remember. I'm old enough to remember. I believe something they did with the hadron collider or at CERN changed our reality around the year 2000. It seems we jumped into another timeline. Who would have ever believed that Trump "you're fired" would become president? But he did! Watch the show "continuum".

Nomad Adventures

Yes!!! I forgot about that one! I saw it in the theater. It doesn’t even make sense unless she has the braces as well! I remember it vividly. WTF!?

Maija Smith

Moonraker is the one that throws me everybody I’ve asked, remembers the girl having a metal mouth of braces

Bosco Lemonzit

Excellent episode. It has it all... the Multiverse, the Quantum realm, the Mandela effect, Phillip K. Dick, and crabcat in a box. 😆 I enjoyed every second.

Nikki G_0

This is a beautiful episode, I carry the idea of the butterfly effect with me throughout life I think its a good thing for everybody to do, enjoy life and make smart decisions. YOLO

Yokai

How do we access them? Ask Prince Corwin and walk the pattern.

Patrick Thomas

It’s either that or the alternative and I’m not super comfortable with multiple versions of me or the possibility of simulations!

Parakativity Kat Parris

WOW!!! I thought my life was « over » but, seems to me I have a lot more decisions to take, experiences to live. Who knows, I may find something, someone…

Benoit Dube

I LOVE This episode. In writing my books I often feel like I am not inventing a story, but reporting what has happened somewhere. I later read what I wrote to edit it, and am blown away by the details, some of which I actually do not remember writing! What’s more, I often find things in our current reality that line up to something I wrote about with no prior knowledge.! It gets spooky, and it keeps happening. Thank’s AJ fir doing such a good job on this snd other concepts. Your channel is one I listen to repeatedly so I get all the nuances if each episode. You deserve to get sponsored by everyone.

Steve Stone

I think they are talking about the "of the world" at the very end of the song. It IS in another version that gets played a lot the "Live Aid" performance so that's probably the source of this confusion lol

Joe L

Yess!! A shoutout to Walter. As soon as I read the title of this video I thought of Fringe & Walter's window invention. Loved that show. I need to rewatch it. And Sliders too, I forgot about that show, another great one.

RomeroCarpenterGaming

The original track played on the radio doesn't end with it, BUT the live aid performance does and that gets played A TON. So this one is likely a misremember driven by the two versions.

Joe L

You are already a legend lol

Joe L

Love the idea of this but also slightly weirded out. I swear the songs last words were “of the world”. I have very clear memories as a teen at my brothers baseball games and that song always played and said “of the world”.

Parakativity Kat Parris

AJ after 'comedy comes in threes.' LOL

Alexander 🦊

Hecklefish was on point in this episode, love it!!

Cullen Bealer

Great episode as usual. I really dig this multiverse stuff!! BTW the Queen song does end with 'of the world' and Sinbad most definitely made the movie Shazam!!

THE Marcus Aurelius

Fear the crabcat

Robert Oxendine

Sliders!

Brian Perkins

Awesome! Thank you!

Amy_OnlyForHecklefish

Great ep AJ. Now to unite all the universes versions of me so that one of them can deal with work in the morning

Lee Bonds

Awesome episode but I very much remember Mandela dying in prison, I remember that night it was on the news, that is the only memory I have on it, no way did I ever come across him dying later where ever it was supposed to be and yes the Queen song ends with of the world, dead sure of it.

Birdie the Cockatiel Randt

Yeah there are multiple recorded versions of the song and that line is in at least one. I remember it with piano playing right after so I knew it wasn't at the end.

Safe and effective!

Great episode!! Now I know why I sometimes sit on the couch feeling exhausted without actually being productive. It's because another version of me had a really busy day!

Dwight Wood

What the hell just happened to the end of We Are the Champions?! I heard it on the radio a few days ago and the "of the world" was there!

Jason Spencer

Awesome episode! The Mandela effect and sim theory are two of my favorite wool gathering spots.

John and Melissa Jett

Ok good cuz that one was really freaking me out lol

John Lancaster

Another brilliant episode. Thanks...

Douglas Morrow

Very fun. 😁

Jeremy Shorter

Great job guys! These vids make my week! May I make a suggestion for a future episode? Perhaps running parallel to this subject: Dreams, and the possible crossing of boundaries into alternate realities, via astral projection or other means. It may be that our caveman brains just can't deal with all that reality on a regular basis, so we explore while we sleep.

Pete Mitchell

1st, Counterpart was a great show! 2nd..my jaw dropped with the "Other" set lol. Well done!

Sonny A

AJ if you haven't yet check out Dark Journalist and Dr. Joseph Farrell. They touch a lot of the subjects you cover.

Safe and effective!

That was amazing. My mind is blown. But, I love the sentiment at the end regarding our choices. Choose them wisely 😌

Colin Butterworth

The audio improvement is noticeable in the new set up. It was always good before but it's even better now.

Adrian Kemp

Those Mandela effects warp my brain. Queen, the monocle, Sinbad, Berenstein Bears, & most of all Ed McMahon. The reasoning of misremembering would be one thing but the fact so many people remember it that same specific way… I don’t buy it. The alternative reality is the only thing that makes sense. I’ve always thought about a reality where Europeans assimilated to the Indigenous population here on turtle island. Hopefully there’s one that nature is revered & respected. Great show as usual!!

Maija Smith

Another great episode! In another reality Hecklefish is actually my sidekick...just saying.

Kevin Wilson

Completely agree!

The Why Files

Mega ULTRA favorite??? Squeeeeee!

The Why Files

I loved Fringe. It's been a while and with the crap coming out now, due to the writer strike, it's probably a great time to rewatch it!

Tyler McLean

Watched here, excellent as always but I will watch again on u tube tomorrow for the adverts, I cant miss them ,always funny. Edge of my seat every week. You guys make me laugh so much but make me wonder about the universe & humanity. No answers in our lifetime but you make the ride fun 😉

Andrew Ellis

The video ending reminds me of one of my favorite literary quotes; "Everyone has it within his power to say, this I am today, that I shall be tomorrow. The wish, however, must be implemented by deeds." -- Mathurin Kerbouchard (The Walking Drum by Louis L'Amour)

Trevor Valentine

Another great one!

SnowCrash

This is my mega ultra favorite episode so far! That says a lot when they are all my favorite. Thank you once again! Fascinating and hilarious! 😁💜

RoLo

Firs, ah crap!

Bosco Lemonzit

This one's going to be interesting! I've always been fascinated by multiverse theories.

Jason Moore

You never disappoint, love from the steel city UK

Andrew Ellis

We are the champions of the world is in the song just not at the end

Safe and effective!

In my universe the why files didn’t exist so I jumped on a quark & landed here

Andrew Ellis

Great episode 😃

Mandy McRobert

I know that I was thinking both...

CJ Jones

I think we all can jump... one tiny step every day. The ones that come with a Mandela Effect are a little weird, though. 🌝

Paul

Love the Joe Scott easter egg! :)

Jeff Okeson

I AM a legend, in another reality. The Great Werminator! ;)

Bill Alexander

I can never decide whether to watch now or the premier…. wait: BOTH!

Michael Adcock

Can’t wait to get back home and listen to this! Thank you for the amazing & constant content ❤️🌟

Vincent Fortin

I would Love to Believe This...But Why Do I Only Know This one...if it's Me In Another Time line Then it's not Really Me...Because I Only Know This one!!! I Think about this Stuff all The Time......Thanks AJ....I'll watch This Tonight...See You Then!!☮️💜🤗

Kym Andreozzi

Yes! I have been wanting your perspective on this. Can't wait to cuddle up with my Hecklefish stuffy and enjoy 😉

Tegan

Hiya Andrew!

The Why Files

You’re so good with the bait lines. I’m hooked. Can’t wait to hear this one. So many different realities. So many timelines. Mind blowing.

Glennerd

Afternoon AJ & Hecklefish! Thanks for the vid!😘

Angeline JoVan

I thought he was talking to hecklefish with that opening.... 🐡

ed pluck

This premise is fantastic most of the time I find myself thinking on what could've happened if I did (or didn't) do something in the past... truly thank you.
