One of our ancestors created fire and passed that knowledge along to the next generation. Then the invention of the wheel. Then agriculture, a writing system, mathematics, space travel.
Within our story, empires rise and fall. Technology progresses. Civilizations are born and die. The human race continues to innovate.
All of our innovations are built on previous ones. There could be no aqueduct without the arch. There could be no metal plow until someone learned how to mine iron. There could be no light bulb, no smart phone and no computer without first understanding electricity.
Our progress is linear. It's orderly.
But sometimes an object is discovered that's completely out of place and out of time.
A computer found on a sunken Roman ship. A power plant found in a 100,000 year old cave. Evidence of a nuclear reactor from over a billion years ago.
These objects shouldn't exist. But they do.
Their existence violates the natural order of human progress.
So if humans didn't create these items, who did?

2023-10-19 02:59:50 +0000 UTCI have a slightly different concern. The recent writers/actors settlement addressed the use of AI, and how talent will be compensated. I don't know if that encompasses use in situations like this, especially if the fake narrator is never identified. From personal experience, I worked with William Shatner in a past life (but this time line!) and he does not do anything for free. He wants compensation. So my concern is these celebrities, or specifically their agents and legal reps, will now come back and demand compensation for simulations of their voices being used, which might result in the actual episodes being pulled down, or blocked by YouTube. Hope I'm wrong about that.

In this episode it did not feel pushed and let's just say: the writing, timing and delivery are way better than what the Mouse House produced. Kinda in line with the Betz sphere episode, one of the bests.

Hundreds of millions of years from now there will still be fossils of humans, the oldest dinosaur fossil is 243 million years old. They were wiped out by a cataclysm 66 million years ago.

But I really hope you will put a flashing warning or a way to skip the flashing part, that might be a problem for some people even if it isn't very long.

Getting the videos a day early and without ads are too big reasons I joined the Patreon site. If I have to wait until it's on YouTube (which I have had to do about 1/3 of the time....like today), why would I continue a "paid subscrition"? Using Chrome and tried switching to Safari....the PAtreon page won't even load in Safari.

However, I remember seeing some comic on HBO back in the very early years of cable saying how he use to do this great John Wayne routine but in light of his passing he thought out of respect he shouldn't do it anymore. Then he said "but *^&^ it, I gotta make a living". Still laugh at that after over 40 years. I guess if you used the voice to say something antithesis to what the person stood for, like Sagan saying 'evolution is false we are created by God', which would be opposite of what he believe, well, while he was alive - may have a different opinion now, that is wrong for sure. Lot of grey area right now with AI
