While on the subject, the Egyptian idea of the soul living on after death, part stays on earth and part goes somewhere else i believe, that's why they bury them with all their favourite foods and possessions etc, what crossed my mind about it is, imagine dying then waking up underground in pitch black, no idea whats going on or where you are and just tripping over all that shit that's piled floor to ceiling, smashing vases of wine and walking into spears and chariots, loads of creepy dead animals and all sorts of crap you dont need and being trapped there in complete darkness alone until the end of days?

2024-11-28 23:06:03 +0000 UTCThere's so many obvious and glaring holes in this theory though, as interesting as it is. like, if souls are reincarnated over and over, where did the original souls come from? and surely if it was in the distant past, the population was drastically smaller, so where did the extra souls come from to fill the population increase gap, also how come these people are always reincarnated as someone important like the pharaoh, never the guy that cleans the chamber pots or a slave.
