Operation Prato | Alien Vampires of the Amazon

In 1977, a remote Brazilian island experienced something unprecedented: systematic attacks on humans by unidentified flying objects. Victims reported glowing ceilings, beams of light, and blood extraction while paralyzed in their beds.

The Brazilian Air Force responded with Operation Prato (Operation Saucer), documenting hundreds of cases and gathering photographic evidence of unknown craft. Captain Uyrangê Hollanda led the investigation, eventually capturing images of objects hidden within the lights.

After decades of silence, Hollanda finally revealed what his team discovered, including his own terrifying encounter with the beings behind the attacks. Just weeks after his interview, he was found dead in his apartment.

The Colares incident remains one of the most well-documented UFO cases in history, raising uncomfortable questions about how governments handle first contact and why some files remain classified.

Thank you. Why have I never heard this info before? Amazing, and AJ + staff are the best!

Cynthia Graham

[Sorry for the rough drafts I unintentionally posted as comments here previously. I have no excuse for doing that.] Barring the implausible, either ETs or an unacknowledged group of humans, people wielding technologies more advanced than those currently publicized, committed the crimes against the people of Colares described in the episode. The lack of a motive for ETs to do such things leaves human beings responsible. Only one affiliation of organizations has the means. Their motives can only be psychopathic, if the perpetrators enjoyed the suffering of their targets, or sociopathic, if the suspects did so for their own gain and simply didn't care about the consequences. Want to know who did it? Go to dpiarchive.com, make a free account, then look up the section on Brazil or search for "Colares" directly. Please let me know what you find.

I use azelastine (asrepro) for my sinus problems. By far, the best sinus medicine. Non-addictive and when you stop using it, it doesn't cause your sinuses to clog up for hours or days. Lasts 12 hours. I am not a doctor, bit I recommend!

That's hit our feeds too - some are pretty interesting!

They did, but they also kept it low key the way I like it.

You shpuld schedule the 24/7 Lives but gives clues like the Jejeung Institute or that other story that was on tonight and I already forget the name of it, Hull's thing 😆

BerniBernsify

Another good one. I mean, they're all good! You should do a non-stop chat and stream over on YouTube. Oh, wait... : -) Regarding that, I wouldn't make it permanent. It will lose its uniqueness, and it might eventually hurt your engagement on back episodes, while also reducing the value of your compilations. I'd run it for a week, ending it with the next original episode. Then I'd schedule them regularly, maybe just for weekends once a month. Something like that. Just my two cents, three cents with inflation.

Great video!

Hello, AJ, Hecklefish, and staff I don't know yet (month 3 of Patreon). I'm all caught up on every episode you've put on YT. AJ, your delivery in both the myths and the verifiable is delightful. You are my favorite online resource for all things the mainstream and algorithms don't want me to see and hear. That said, I'd love to hear what you and the team can dig up on a lot of items hitting my IG/FB/YT shorts and streams re: "things not to do in Appalachia". I'm about 75 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and am not an NC native, but these vids re: para/supernatural voices, mimics, and skinwalkers in the Appalachians would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, new friends!

Anyone think it's just part of the NWO? Govs across the globe have had them for decades and now they're getting us used to the idea so that first contact begins the NWO? Is it all a pay-op?....I wonder

ETs do not see us as ants or the ‘low’ life form. In fact, the opposite is true. Earth is a tough school (and for a reason); only brave souls choose to experience temporary amnesia of their true selves and decide to experience such imposed limitations that are available here on Earth. You are an eternal, infinite, indestructible being at your core, so you choose to forget all that and incarnate here on Earth. That takes some serious balls, and ETs study us for this particular reason (and many other reasons as well).

Pavel S.

Hi AJ. John here, in England. February 2025. I have been reading about this kind of stuff since I was a teenager in the 70s. I bought Erich Von Daniken's first book when it first came out. I was always in the library looking for the latest books on UFOs. If only I had known, then, that I wasn't the only one. You are doing a great job so finally after bingeing for the last few weeks on your You Tube videos I have put my money where my mouth is and taken up membership AND Patreon membership to support you. Keep up the good work to you, AJ and your whole team. Best wishes, John.

I've been enjoying every free moment, listening to Sarah J. Maas's, "Throne of Glass" series. OMG it's so good. The only thing tearing me away is of course, "The Why Files". Loved the episode, the imagery was well done. This week's hot, humid jungle was a stark difference from last week's frozen Antarctica. The writing, research, editing all of it, so good.

I like the exposure to higher vibrational energy theory. But ET may merely be studying us like the very lowly beings we are. They probably see us as ants just to examine. Being king of ants or helping ants evolve would be a tedious pointless project. I think ET has better things to do

Thanks AJ :)

Fact--we have hidden elites who say There are too many people. There are also trillions of dollars missing from the Pentagon as reported by Donald Rumsfeld on Sept 10, 2001. The next day the world changed. They tell us they are stealing our money and they want to get rid of most of us. With our own species acting like this who needs aliens?

The Dark Forest Hypothesis is nonsense, and here is why. Humans hunting in the forest for limiting resources is based on the false belief that there are limited resources to begin with. True, resources on Earth are somewhat limited, but not in the Universe. Just in our galaxy are infinite resources for us to comprehend and imagine mentally (try it; it’s a fun exercise). Let’s think logically. Based on so many UFO encounters, if they’d want us to be eliminated, they’d have done it by now. Since we’re still here, that only means they mean no harm to us. On the contrary, they’re guiding us and helping us to evolve. The deadly fear most people feel during the encounters is being exposed to a much higher vibrational frequency that human ‘fight-or-flight’ reflexes kick in, and it feels like ‘dying.’ Imagine a lightbulb operating at 230V; suddenly, you expose the same lightbulb to 5000V or 10000V. It’s a similar effect happening in your body when exposed to a higher vibrational being; their energy is, for us, way overwhelming (until we choose to adjust).

Pavel S.

Why have I never heard of this? Looking forward to it :)

Thank you for sharing your opinion, and thank you for liking my comment. I enjoy talking a lot, and this is a way for me to talk. I agree with you that Humanity has had a Double Sided History, where on the one hand, we can build machines to travel the Stars, explore this amazing world of ours, and use computers to talk to anyone on Earth. This is like magic. However, on the other hand, we have World Wars that have decimated many Millions of Lives, and destroyed Families. We took Nuclear Technology, and instead of making it a limitless source of power for everyone, we use it to build the most devastating Weapons known to Mankind. And we can't even agree on Simple truths of the Matter. But I don't see us as a threat. And I'll explain why. I think that every civilization that is Alive and thriving in the Universe (that I believe do exist), have all gone through their own problems, events, and crises that marked their History Forever. I don't think they see us as a Threat, as if they did, we would not be having this conversation. The Moment we set off the Nuclear Bomb, that would have been a dinner bell ringing for them, and they would have turned this Planet into a Ball of Lava. But they did not do that, instead it seems they have been watching us, seeing what is happening on this Pale Blue Dot of ours, and letting us decide what will happen. I think they see us as a species that has just learned to walk. One of my favorite sayings is this: "If you were to condense the Earth's lifespan into 24 Hours, then we have been on this Planet for... 3 Seconds." There is a theory called "The Great Filter", which the premise is that every civilization in the Universe reaches a point, where they have to pass through this Filter, if they do, they get to expand outwards into the Stars, Exploring this amazing place we call the Universe, and have access to technology only in Science Fiction. Or, they don't make it through. They instead succumb to a Civilization-ending Scenario, such as Nuclear War, Artificial Intelligence, Engineered Diseases, or any other Scenario that you could think of, and even ones we don't know about yet, That could wipe Humanity from the Face of the Earth, and the Universe at Large. I think other civilizations will not judge us on an individual-to-individual level, but on a collective level. I think they will judge us on whether or not we can come together as Humanity, solve the Issues that we face collectively, and see if we can look past petty little things such as Race, Nationality, and Ethnicity. I think that we are at a Crossroads, and I know many people feel that we are. One road leads to Humanity reaching for the Stars, gaining access to technology that we only dream of, and getting to meet our Galactic Neighbors. The other road leads to us never getting off the launchpad, fighting with each other, losing what it means to be Human, and finally being burnt out like smoldering embers after a long, and warm campfire. Never truly burning as bright as we could. However, I'm optimistic about the Future. Because I am going to do my part to help make this happen. No matter how big or small, our impact can have ripples across all of the Universe. As it's commonly stated: "The Flap of a butterflies wings can cause a Typhoon half way across the World". The Only way that we become those smoldering embers, is if we never try to Fly. And only together, can we make it to 4 Seconds.

TheCuriousNoggin

Captain Hollanda looked like a haunted man, but he did not appear suicidal to me. If anything, I’d say he wanted very much to live. I wonder which faction killed him. As for reaching out to make alien contact; I remember feeling a deep sense of unease and foreboding when they sent the Voyager probes out - by sending a map into space advertising our exact location and reasons to come visit; they were gambling the security of the Earth on the assumption that alien intelligence would be friendly. But what do I know…from being slightly bemused by the talking goldfish with teeth to being thrilled and delighted every time he makes that little trill of happiness; my attitude to Hecklefish is the yardstick by which I measure my descent into madness.

Kat

I give you Telsa and Oppenheimer and the guy who made the first Gattling gun (Mr. Gattling). All of them made powerful weapons as deterrents to stop war. The Korean who made the floating turtle ship with poison gas probably thought the same thing. Also, the shutting down of nuclear facilities could be them taking care of their resource farm and not letting the insects on the planet destroy it. How long would they have to wait nuclear fallout to be cleaned up on the farm? Also, we can sometimes get lucky like when Fred Trump collected all of Tesla's research left in his "hotel" when he died. Fred got 10 boxes of research. Then 2 got "lost" when then boxes were shipped to Siberia to the Tesla Museum. Fred went on to do other great research but lucky did not release everything he got. But in those files, he most likely got the ray which Tesla originally used as a sort of GPS for an Englishmen traveling to the north pole who request of Tesla something to point him north. Tesla told him to look up and he would know it when he saw it. after he shot it off the stratosphere it bounced and while traveling lite up the north hemisphere. people in London said it was like the sun at noon at midnight. later on, that day/night the famous Siberian crater formed when the light came bouncing back down. it is the only time Tesla admitted to making a mistake. the mistake was " I forgot light is affected by gravity. ". he did not mean for the light to come hurling back down with such force to obliterate a huge section of forest.

I just don't buy the paranoia. That's a projection of US, human beings, and it exists not just because of the acquisition of resources and forcing colonization on lesser threats. It exist because of our not so distant past when WE were the prey. Show me the quantum physicist who wants to brutally conquer their neighbor. You can't because that person is about knowledge. Sufficient knowledge to travel from one solar system to the next without conquering US seems to indicate, at worst, a kind of indifference. Then there are the well documented incidents when apparently higher intelligences shut down selected nuclear arsenals (as reported in vetted, official documents in both the USA and the former USSR). We know that happened so they know our potential, at least whoever did that is aware of it. Again, no invasion. I'm not sure why humans are hung up on power fantasies, but if I were give a guess as to why "they" aren't interacting with us, it's our immaturity, hostility and greed. Just look at the morons we elect to high office. In a lot of ways we are still knuckle draggers. Until that stops (I'm honestly losing hope) it may be the next ascendent species turn to show they aren't the ignoramuses too many of us,-currently- can't seem to put in the past.

What does the zoom in on hecklefish and the books mean? I am missing some fun game?

Hey AJ, I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your show—it’s my favorite, and you’re my favorite creator. I really admire how you balance humor with a factual, scientific look at things, and how you debunk myths in such a logical, thoughtful way. I know you’ve done dark episodes before, but this one felt a little more negative than usual, and I wanted to share my thoughts with you. I agree, humans are aggressive by nature, but that doesn't mean extraterrestrials are. If they were truly hostile, they would have eliminated us during the cold war at the first sign of nukes. You mentioned testing our defenses and technology, but the reality is they already now. Also, when you talked about resources being limited, that’s only true for Earth. The universe is vast and expanding with limitless possibilities. Who would care about one small planet and one stupid species? As far as Liu Cixin and the dark forest theory, you broke my heart when you referenced the "hunter in the forest" scenario, where they would eliminate anyone they saw as a rival. If I were the hunter, I’d pick up the infant and give the toddling man my shoulder. I’d share whatever little food I had because I don’t see others as threats unless they show themselves to be. There is safety and comfort in numbers even in the animal kingdom. Lastly, you used the example of a wasp nest in your attic and asked if you wouldn’t eliminate it if it stung your children. But what if we’re the wasps, and we’re not stinging anyone? I think the analogy doesn’t fit if we’re not actually a threat. Just wanted to share my perspective with you. I really appreciate everything you do, and I hope this gives you something to think about. Thanks for all the great work!

Ann Cook

Love it I will watch this again before bed

Hey, aren't we in cahoots with several species of aliens, already? (not to be confused with Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict, although I can see some parallels...probably should have laid off the acid back in the day) Seriously though, if they haven't destroyed us by this point, what are they waiting for? It's not like we're suddenly going to get dumber...Ooooh...well, that makes sense now. Great episode! This is one of the highlights of my week and always look forward to new material. Peace!

Have heard it said that the government has tech that is decades ahead of what the public has. So in the 70s drones would have been seen as UFO. Now people know what drones are, unless you are a remote tribe living in the jungle. Then a drone would still be a UFO.

Wolfecom

Uhh... Look at our history. I don't see how an alien race wouldn't see us as a threat. The people who go for power positions only want it to abuse it until that system gets overthrown. Most good people don't have an interest in those positions. In this day and age government gots people protecting their own fetters... People are literally celebrating the downfall of their rights. Great comment by the way.

Hey Bosco!! How you been??

The Why Files

Just wanted to say the Episode was great, and I don't really know if I like it when you say you cannot debunk it or it is true, but as they say "The Truth will set you Free". However, I have to ask: do you think that if there was another civilization, and they found out about us in a number of different ways (nuclear explosions, radio signals, probes...), that they would believe there only choice they have is to kill the other civilization? The reason why I bring this up, is because I don't know if this is the case. I cannot say completely that there are not civilizations out there that only want to cause us pain, and to exterminate us. But for the most part, UFOs have never truly attacked anyone (that I know of). And what connection I find fascinating is the one between UFOs and Nuclear technology, where it appears that Nuclear Sites, and especially Bombs draw UFOs near them. If I remember correctly, one of the first supposed UFO sightings happened after the Trinity Test in 1945. Probably the most famous sightings connected with UFOs was with the Maelstrom Air Force Base, where in 1967, Air Force Captain Robert Salas stated that the 10 Warheads he was looking over were suddenly shut down. In connection with it, there was a glowing red object in the Sky above the Base. The Missileers were unable to get the Nukes back online until the Object Left. The Air Force did an investigation into the Matter, and were unable to determine the Cause. Another thing to note is, the fact that the Nukes were completely isolated from each other, and for each one to go offline at the exact same time is extremely unlikely. And the fact that the personnel are some of the most rigorously tested people in the whole military, where they have to disclose if they had taken Advil, lends credibility to this case. This is just one of many incidents that have occurred in and around Nuclear Sites. I bring this up, due to the fact that the UFO/Object never attacked anyone, never armed the nukes, and never did anything that would be deemed aggressive. It simply hovered over the base, and shut the Nukes down. I would not be able to tell you the reason why this happened, but I don't feel it was them trying to hurt us, or be aggressive. I'm not disagreeing with what you stated in the video, I personally think that the UFO mystery is like a Soup, where there are many different parts that add in to create the Phenomenon. UFOs could be Aliens, as well as from Another Dimension, Humans coming back from the Future, and Militaries/Governments secret projects or programs. When we talk about Aliens coming down to destroy us, like we see in the Movies, or as stated by Scientists. I believe this can be in part due to our Evolution and History, where in order for another species to thrive, someone has to lose. The Competition that happens on Earth all the time. Sorry for the Long post, I like to add in as much context as I can to try and explain my Statement. I am also trying to think before I speak, so in this case write it out. Thank you again Aj, Hecklefish, and the Whole Team for this video. It is always a blast to watch them, and I want to state that this me not trying to attack you or anyone, if it comes out as that, please let me know. That is not my intention with this.
