i genuinely am so confused still about how the boyz and oneus got 3rd and not 1st or atleast 2nd, in my opinion, pentagon and onf stage was good, but idk something about it i didnt't vibe with, like it doesn;t always have to be the darkest and most intense to be the best. idk i just think the boyz and oneus rlly deserved 1st place on the collab stage

Oh no, I'm a few years older than you, so I'm a boomer TT Btw, this was in April or May 2020, and the Daisy win only came at the end of October. Right after Doctor BeBe finished promoting without a win, kino broke down crying on vlive because he thought Pentagon had disappointed the fans not getting a win. :( This poor boy. I still go back to this version of Kill this Love and it's been over a year. ONEUS and The Boyz deserved second imo. It was an amazing, meaningful performance. I still don't understand what happened there, but I think people voted strategically so that they wouldn't get first place again. ...as usual, I love ONF's stage. They're really something!! And ONEUS using Romeo and Juliet as a concept? Yes, please!

The BTS cover was...just not great man. However, as someone who echoes your sentiments regarding the way performances are graded (heavy on the choreo, not so much with vocals) I really thought Oneus x TBZ deserved that win. As someone who loves Pentagon and has an unhealthy hate towards the Boyz for being so good. That Sunmi cover was extremely inspired. Until that performance I kind of just considered The Boyz to be a Circus du Soleil group masquerading as a boy band, but that performance showed their best capabilities and was probably their best of the entire series IMO. Also, Oneus really couldn't catch a break.

I don't stan VeriVery or TOO but I did enjoy their performances on the show and I have to agree that their ON stage wasn't super impressive, like it was good ofc but it didn't stand out if that makes sense. I think people tend to get hyped on songs they know and love which is why covers of big popular songs tend to do better in competition shows. Produce 101 is a series that could be shown as an example, the teams that covered BTS songs were on top a lot of the time even when other teams with different songs did better and had more wow factor. I don't mind Pentagon and ONF getting first place because their stage was absolutely amazing but I think The Boyz and Oneus should have at least gotten 2nd, I really don't understand them coming in at third :l Also want to explain a bit about the process. After the second first round ended and while the groups were preparing for the second round, they were told to pick a song they want to see another team on the show perform, they would only find out which team will perform the song they picked after the second round ended. So after the second round ended and they announced which teams would be paired up they announced that the song each group chose would go to their partner team to perform so each team had to prepare two performances in 2 weeks I believe so they could film this episode all at once. Often times shooting for these kinds of shows last a LONG time so they arrived before the sun even rose to practice and shoot both the collab stages and the individual team stages on the same day.

People have mentioned that but I feel like it might be more trouble than it's worth. The k123 player is so bad that scrubbing with it isn't the best

Just as a heads up, if you get sick of the quality drops during stages, there are 1080p versions on YouTube. You could just skip over the stages in the episode and watch those in their place if you want.

As someone who is currently studying psychology (starting social psychology masters in sept hopefully), I wouldn't say that it's in the same vein as horoscopes. It's true that the validity (statistical validity and test validity) of the MBTI as a psychometric instrument got a lot of criticism on various grounds over the years. BUT! If you look at it as a method of helping someone think of their personal epistemology (at the moment of taking the test), it's quite useful. Unlike horoscopes, it actually takes in consideration your answers - and that's already a huge difference. And I heard that there were many occasions where it was a great tool to design teams, which members can work together better, and so on in office work. (Of course, definitely not as useful or valid as Big Five for example.) And personally, it never made me worry, it's not like anyone in the idol industry would build their life around MBTI, it's just a fun trend and I find it more interesting than the what's your blood type thing. (Sorry for this off-topic.)

Technically, in the Oneus Be mine performance people did die. In the part where Ledo and Keonhee were lifted up by the background dancers and then reach out to each other while falling back, they were portraying Merculio and Tybalt who in "Romeo and Juliet" get into a fight and die. Keonhee and Leedo falling back were them die. Also, the part where Ravn cuts the two emblems apart is him cutting the family crests of Romeo and Juliet's families apart.

ATEEZ performed It's Raining on Immortal Songs 2 about a month ago if that's maybe what you were thinking of lol The teams results was probably one of the biggest upsets in the show results history! And yes, Pentagon won with Daisy - their first win but it was after RtK :) The 2nd part confused me at first too. I think the teams were told to pick a song they wanted to see another team perform, but they did not know at the time the other team would be their partner team lol And yes Oneus was in last place after the team round was ranked. Sorry, I'm commenting as I watch lol

I forgot to add that I also agree on The Boyz and ONEUS' cover of Heroine should have ranked higher. Pentagon and ONF were also great and I can't decide if Kill This Love or Heroine is my number one.

I'm here again in fan-mode, but ONEUS' cover of Be Mine is a masterpiece. It has so many little details regarding not only Romeo and Juliet but also INFINITE. I just love it. Also it is one of the 3 songs from the show (excluding the finale songs) that I still listen to till this day. I want to also point out RAVN's raps, how the feel of the two are vastly different, for example in the last rap you can hear the sadness. Now this is my opinion, but throughout the show I feel like ONF and ONEUS are the only groups that were able to maintain their own sound and style in every performance. Every song really seemed like their own. Although TOO was too young of a group to really include in this comparison. Great reaction!

I think the Kill This Love remix and performance is borderline masterpiece. So it has the first place for me. But I agree the Heroine should be on 2nd. The On performance is lackluster for me

They decided the songs for Round 3 during Round 2, the segment here were the song is assigned is a "flashback" to that. So they recorded both performance for all the groups at the same time for Round 3. Recording for this shows last a LONG time, I think over a day even. Hui works so hard, beside all the behind the scenes producing he has been is so many competition shows to promote himself and the group (3?4? idk), he has a lot on his shoulders. Hope he rests now that he can, even if it is unlikely. Also, yes PENTAGON won with Daisy but this was recorded before that, they had just lost Dr Bebe chances to win before Jinho left, which is why Kino is a mess (but you guessed right, Kino cries a lot even among PTG members who have a lot of crying clips out there). ONF and PTG together are so cute, a collab would be amazing, they are always being supportive of one another even now. I liked the stage overall a lot, Hyojin (ONF redhead) and Hui singing was amazing but Wooseok made the performance for me, his rap was amazing, possibly not over it yet. I am pretty sure they just modulated the voice a bit in the latest part and it was all him (his voice goes up and down a lot). Regarding The Boys and Oneus, I don't connect with some performances as they register as too perfect for some reason (what is wrong with me), but objectively speaking they did an amazing job especially Hwanwoong and Q (Oneus and The Boyz dancers). I really enjoyed both the concept and the song for once! It's definitely my favorite performance by them both, but all the voting in this competition is tactical, which is sad. I am also starting to get tired of stunts in super charged stages after RTK, they have been done enough now, so I hope in Kindom they start doing some twists in genre similar to this. Also, ONF It's Raining is iconic. Next two episodes are painful but there are some amazing performance, so let's just enjoy those.

So ready for this!! I love how much you enjoyed The Boyz x ONEUS! I thought the performance was cute but I prefer Pentagon x ONF sooo much more. It's my favourite performance EVER, not just from this show! I remember the first time I saw it and was just absolutely gobsmacked. I do agree that The Boyz x ONEUS should've gotten 2nd place though. 100%. ONEUS did such a great job on the solo stage as per usual. I absolutely love TOO's choreo, idk what it is, but they can dance their asses off! Monster rookies for sure. I'd put ONF's performance on temporary 1st place personally, I thought they did a phenomenal job! Excited for the rest of the show! You're actually almost finished, episode 8 is the live finale!
