(G)I-DLE - I AM Album Listening Party

(G)I-DLE - I AM Album Listening Party

I love Yummy Tone, Sancho and Pop Time, but I really hope Soyeon works with the producers of the songs in this album as well. It was such an amazing debut album. And you have to check out I Made. I love it. My rankings - 1. What's in Your House/ Don't Text Me 2. Latata/Maze - the individuality is best represented in these songs you can make out the different tones quite clearly. 3. Dollar/Hear Me - these are interchangeable. I love them for being so different like you said. I really hope you check out I Made.

You might as well go ahead and buy I Made too while you're at it. All of their albums are full of great songs.

Anyway, 400 USD in 1 month is a lot hahahahaaa I do put purchase limit (max 200 Euro per haul) and only to do it once each 4 months. Otherwise I would go bankrupt lool

Agree, they really go into the darker route with I Trust and I Burn, especially I Trust. It is too dark for my taste and is the only album that I can't enjoy as much as the others from them

Stanley Maximillian

This album is actually produced mostly NOT by Soyeon. She only produced Latata. There rest are done by other producers. This is also the only album where this happens, since she (or Minnie and Yuqi) produced all of the other albums

As cool and theatrical as idle title tracks are for just listening I absolutely love love love their b-sides. It's just a good mix of hype and chill that makes a super solid album for me. What's in your house is my personal favorite from this one. Soyeon is credited for lyrics on every song except hear me, but only latata for the arrangement according to wiki so 🤷‍♀️

FYI there are some live stages of Maze during K-Con Thailand(I think.. I forgot. lol) 2018 if you want to check it out. :)

It is just a great album. As always with Idle for me there is not a song i would skip. Personally i love Hear me the most, but it is close with Maze. I am just a sucker for strong vocals and these two deliver those the most. :)

I Am is a strong-ass album. Individuality really was the big thing here. Soyeon specifically rejected standard vocal coaching for the members early on, as that apparently has a lot of focus on high note technique instead of how to best utilize your own voice. She talks about that on a recent segment she and Minnie did on Nada's SOFA AWAY. Personally I like how you don't know what to expect with their early songs - even within one song, you don't always know what's about to happen and it rewards multiple listens. That quality is a bit more rare on I Trust and I Burn, IMO. I tend to think of Miyeon's voice as "wide", like it really fills the space if that makes sense. It almost sounds like she's double-tracked but it's just her. A true power vocal. MAZE is still one of my favorite Idle tracks ever, sooo good. Comfortable but punchy. Miyeon doing Miyeon things. My ranking: 1. MAZE 2. Don't text me 3. Latata 4. What's in your house 5. Hear me 6. Dollar

Can't wait for you to react to I MADE. So underrated.

Fun Fact: on their album's debut release, they sold less than 300 copies. Why most people got hooked with (G)I-dle, even for me, was because of Soyeon. Everyone knew who she was before. Another reason is because I Am is such an amazing album. All their songs were different and people liked their B sides more than LATATA.

RobotoMon

I love Dollar lol, especially with the choreo for it at their online concert last year. It is very unusual and iconic. Soyeon is like going ham rapping by herself, then all of the sudden the rest of the crew lead by Miyeon do this like galloping trot thing towards Soyeon lmao

randomAlienVisitor

I could've scheduled it for tomorrow morning but I thought 🤷‍♂️

JUST WHEN I WAS GONNA HIT THE SHEETS, THIS MAN DROPS IT!!!
